First of all, "the later" in this case means your "generic furry" characters, especially if he said/meant the latter. Second, just based on his choice of words, I'd say this person was biased against furry characters, so maybe not the best source of input.

Whoever this is didn't express themselves at all well. I'm not sure what they meant though they don't seem all that happy with your choice of characters. Wouldn't you rather have a critique of your art rather than what you choose to draw? That's what I'd want.
