I hope my mask of Snow is not damaged/destroyed ;_;

So I shipped my mask of Snow back to
Sharpe19 for repairs. Not only did they somehow ship it to the wrong apartment building (she told me that the lady from the other apt complex came over and gave her a bunch of mailing slips, one of them being my package) but they also are now shipping it back to me so it never even got to her. I called them late last week (Friday?) and they tell me that "it was damaged".... I am gonna flip shit if they broke my mask during shipping! Even though I told them the net worth of it ($1,065 USD) and even told them to make sure it states FRAGILE. I even wrote FRAGILE all over it in permanent marker!!! Yet apparently they do not care??? I usually ship everything via USPS and never have problems. This is the first time shipping via Fed Ex personally and they damaged it? D> I am furious and worried. I do not have the box back YET, but I am afraid to open the box once I get it back.....
I may have to file a claim if they busted it... which means it will sit here until the claim goes through, which also means I won't be able to ship it back to her until after they finish the claim, and who knows how long that could take? I am just praying and hoping it is only the box that got damaged and not the mask.... D> Here is to severely hoping, and really crossing my fingers..... ;_;

I think if anything, you should encourage a boycott on fedex.
Fed Ex worries me, a lot.
So you paid that much for it, but that is not the net worth because that is not the value of the mask.
I really hope that your head is safe.. I think it's jumping to conclusions to say it "may be completely destroyed".
I think you are causing far too much worry for yourself, and there's still plenty of consideration that the damages are minor.
Telling people that your fursuit head may be completely destroyed brings a lot more worry and stress to the situation, and is totally unnecessary.
You're only causing more worry and stress for yourself. I hope she returns home safely!
If your SNOW mask is destroyed, to me it is like losing a big piece of my furry heritage. Snow, was my VERY FIRST favorite furry Icon...Sharpe Brought Snow to life, in such an amazing way. May sound silly to some, but I am praying for a safe return.

I feel for you, but if Snow was created once, She can be RECREATED!!!!
I just hope the "damage" was just the box, or the damage the mask had when I first shipped it out (it was cracked on the jaw from normal wear which is why I shipped it out for repairs), but there should be no other damage to it.
And exactly. Snow is also my theriotype (I am a therian) as well as one of my fursonas, so it is VERY personal to me, and if the mask got busted... I am gonna be crushed.... I wanted it to be made as close to her likeness and character as possible. Sharpe did an amazing job and pulled it off VERY well.... I just hope it is ok!!!

From personal experience FedEx doesn't care, fragile or not.
Mike got me a Kindle HD last year around my birthday through Amazon. It was shipped via FedEx and somehow got lost and was never shipped to me. When Mike called Amazon to make the complaint they checked it out personally. Apparently there are suspicions that the driver somewhere in the mid-west stole the package. The lady from Amazon was kind enough to ship a brand new one and of course through UPS this time and got here quicker than expected.
FedEx is nothing but trouble!
but lets just hope!
most people wont handle things fragile D:
p.s not the same topic, dose raven still make fur suits? I have 5 customers for him if so :/ -gets lost in snows icon for 3 mins-.....dat icon..
I actually had a recent problem with the USPS. I bought a Windstone dragon I've wanted for YEARS and it arrived with basically no wings and dust as the remnants. I did a lot of research about filing a claim, and they say that in the event that you actually GET the money back (and you have to prove it), you might have to give them the item that was damaged. So they can just throw it away, I was guessing. I was freaking out, since I wanted so badly to keep my dragon. After all, I thought I could fix it myself if worse came to worse. And then some people said that they would just get a check in the mail. OR you have to go to the office and prove it/hand it over/get your check. It sounded awful.
Either way, I filed a claim through the website with about 10 pictures of the damage, receipts, shipping label, etc. In about 2 weeks I got a check in the mail. (Shipping prices aren't refundable which makes NO SENSE since THEY messed it up.)
I got to keep my dragon after all so I was happy. I was just out the shipping cost.
And yes, I heard that FedEx uses people that kind of don't even work for them, so its iffy to ship things that are fragile or anything.
Heh, this is why I always use UPS if I can; I've NEVER had an issue with them, and they are quick shippers. I trust them the most.
I'd make sure you knew what kind of damage actually happened first before doing any file claiming.
I actually never had problems with USPS or UPS. The only issues I had with UPS are the fact that they never seem to update their website with the tracking information... I had a package that was shipped that according to the website the tracking number "did not exist," however the package was sent and received on time with no delays.
I am thinking of just shipping either via UPS or USPS from now on.... never going Fed Ex again, ever. :I
