Japan: earthquake in the east, strongly felt in Tokyo
A powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred on Monday morning in eastern Japan, shaking violently skyscrapers and houses in the center of Tokyo, without causing tsunami risk, according to the National Meteorological Agency.
The earthquake occurred at O5h18 local time (8:18 p.m. Sunday GMT). Its epicenter was located on the Izu Oshima Island, south of the capital, and its hypocenter 160 kilometers deep.
The U.S. central monitoring earthquakes, USGS, for his part, evaluated the magnitude to 5.8.

Was there when that one earthquake and supsquent tsunami happened. Hope there isn't another one like that, the debris fields were pretty horrible to look at. Kids shoes, tables roofs, clothes etc all clumped together miles off shore. Was pretty sureal.
