Wisdom teeth are starting to come in

One of my wisdom teeth is coming in lately. Right now my thoughts are 1) It actually doesn't hurt or feel weird in any way. 2)Why is it even coming in? With all respect to myself, I'm definitely not wise by any means.
(Yes, I'm one of those folks that never had them removed. My family has always struggled with money and couldn't afford that kind of thing.)

I only know mine were in for quite a while without any problems.
Then one day they began to hurt, which prompted me to get them pulled. Not fun (or cheap).
