Cigar Review of the week: JFR Vintage Seleccion Corojo
11 years ago
General
When looking at the way that these bad boys were displayed,
I suspected something big coming from them as well. Turns out that they are
supposed to be head/pig-tail in the air facing up which is recommended by reps.
I got me a corojo to start out with and went from there with a
shot of Maker's Mark and Coke.
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder/Filler: Nicaragua
Size: 5.5 x 50
Pre Smoke and Construction:
Small veins and lumps make it look a little rough, like just recntly being rolled fresh.
Couple spots, but nothing too frail.
First Third:
The draw was very loose from the shaggy wrapper tail to igniting the
binder and filler. A good wood and earthy flavor. Peppery notes soon lignered from the
exhale. Subtle but a nice start.
Second Third:
The woody flavor progressed until the peppery notes smoothened out a little bit,
giving it a little more relaxed feel. I did hint a couple of leather notes from the exhale though.
Third and Final:
The woody flavor still remained, but the pepper notes soon turned to a sweet flavor.
Soon a creamy and roasty after taste came to finnish her off till my pallet felt the burn.
Literally could not let go until it got too hot for my tongue. X3
Overall Conclusion:
A good start for the day I would say. Medium bodied never tasted so good. ^^
If you like that kind of taste and flavor, I'd highly recommend this stick. :3
That's it for this week until next.
If you have a suggestion, please drop me a line or note and give a request. ^^
