Cartoon of the Week -- It's Tough to be a Bird

General
A classic Disney Featurette that won an Oscar for Best Short Subject in 1970:
Part 1:
To my knowledge, this has never been officially released on DVD or Blu-Ray:
Part 2:
Part 3 has the least animation, but don't miss the grand finale (i.e. the last 2 and a half minutes):
It is interesting to note that this was made at the same time as Monty Python's Flying Circus -- so close that I don't think it was possible that either side was influenced by the other. Great minds thinking alike, I guess.

I remember this! It was on an old VHS that we had!

That must have been the one that was paired with the Ranger of Brownstone (i.e. Humphrey the Bear) cartoons. It's the only VHS tape of the show I could find on Amazon -- and now it costs upward of $100.00!

This was taped from a TV broadcast in the mid-80s but yes, I think it did feature those cartoons as well!

Indeed. What would be even better is if all the other bits that were added to its airings over the years on the Disneyland Show/Wonderful World of Disney/Disney's Wonderful World of Color could be re-added to form one extended version. I'm referring to the sequences that are missing here, including the montage of bird footage shown to the tune of the Hungarian Rhapsody, and the excerpt from the Enchanted Tiki Room ("Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing"). With those, it would just about pad the featurette into movie-length.
