Most of the bosses are ridiculously easy compared to the first game, it really seems they just added small enemies to make bosses harder

You also have way more experience with the game since you've played the first game. That's why the bosses seem easier. The bosses in this game are way better than the first game.

I'd have to disagree. Aside from a few outliers on either side, I feel the bosses in Dark Souls 2 are overall less entertaining than the ones in the first game. I also feel that the boss difficulty is... I dunno, wrong somehow. The bosses in 2 hit harder, faster, and take more hits... but the bosses in 1 I felt more like I really had to figure out how they worked. Kind of like Classic Castlevania or even Megaman boss fights VS more modern Metroidvania boss fights. Or something. I dunno.

Still enjoyed fighting them quite a bit, though. However, the game's main strength is the multiplayer, especially the PvP. Y'know, aside from a few stupidly-powerful tactics.

More like "Oh he's breathing his instant death fire (seriously why the fuck is there an instant kill attack with huge range in the game, that's fucking stupid)? Let me just turn around, bend right over for him and TAKE NO DAMAGE BECAUSE GOWER'S"

I feel that a lot of the bosses in Dark Souls 1 relied on some gimmick to actually make the fight difficult. Bed of Chaos is the obvious example, but there are others, like Capra Demon - he's not hard at all, they just dick you over with those two dogs. And if you have trouble even with the dogs dead, just walk on top of the gate and shoot/jump attack. Seath the Scaleless, where the only real difficulty in the fight was destroying the crystal first. Ornstein and Smough, the battle that was only hard because there were two of them, and trying to fight them solo was a huge spike in difficulty. Even Taurus Demon, the gimmick being those two archers, or Gaping Dragon, with the sorcerer.

I love Dark Souls 1 and I love a lot of those fights, but I think Dark Souls 2 boss design was one of the strongest improvements. Almost all of the bosses were satisfying to fight (except for the Royal Rat Authority, which was basically another gimmick fight about taking out the rats ASAP). I can't really think of a boss fight in that game I disliked aside from the Ancient Dragon and the Royal Rat Authority. You had to learn their patterns, learn what moves were unblockable, etc. Just like Dark Souls 2.

I realized I typed a lot of nothing for the most part but my nose and eyes are swollen from allergies and I can't concentrate hard enough to make myself any more coherent
