The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D: A remake of OoT for the 3DS. The updated visuals, frame rate and interface make this worth playing if you really liked the original on the 64. It also includes master quest from the Gamecube bonus disk, so this is a good chance to play that as well. This is exactly the same as the 64 version, so if you didn't like that you won't like this.
LoZ: A Link Between Worlds: A direct sequel to A Link to the Past. A 2D Zelda that has very few flaws. It suffers from a lack of story due to Nintendo not having experience with non-linear story in Zelda. The dungeons also lack complexity compared to the previous titles because they are designed to be completed with only the dungeon item. Despite this, this is a very good game and is worth playing.
Kid Icarus Uprising: The only problem with this game is that its control scheme cam be awkward. If you had no problem with Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS, you'll have no problem with the controls here. This game is very under appreciated and deserves more attention. The gameplay is very fun, and there are many things to collect (like Super Smash Bros Brawl). The voice acting is very good and the dialogue is amazing. Worth buying if you can deal with the controls.
Virtue's Last Reward: A visual novel and the second entry in the Zero Escape series. Incredible writing and a great story, if you like games like Ace Attorney, you'll like this. The sound track works well with the 3DS sound font, and delivers a very good experience. If you are interested in this game, see if you can play 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors on the DS first.
Mario Kart 7: I personally don't like this as much as Mario Kart DS as it lacks single player content. There is no single player Vs. or mission mode, but the track design is very good. If you play with friends a lot, get this game. If you don't, wait until you have some spare change.
Super Mario 3D Land: A mix between 2D and 3D Mario. This game is much more fun than I thought it would be. Worth playing if you liked Galaxy.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon: If you liked the original on the Gamecube, you'll like this. This game improves some of the issues in the original and is a very solid game. Kind of hard to put a genre on this game.
Bravely Default: Classic Final Fantasy is all but name. The second half of the game drags on way too much and is way too repetitive. If you can get over that, the games battle system is very similar to the early FF games and is worth playing if you like RPGs.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team: The Mario RPG to get for the 3DS. This game has a style of humor that is very similar to the Paper Mario games. The gameplay is very similar to previous games. A good game for people who like RPGs.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor: Overclocked: Amazing SRPG that is a remake of SMT: Devil Survivor on the DS. It combines the monster battling concept (like pokemon) and the grid based combat of SRPGs. Amazing story, dialogue, and characters, if you like RPGs or SRPGs, get this game. The grimmest game in the SMT series, this has one of the best RPG stories I've ever experienced.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: A great RPG for players looking to get into SMT games. Much more user friendly than previous games, this game is at its most difficult in the first dungeon. The SMT games revolve around the world and the consequences of your actions. Much more grim and mature than other games, this is a monster battling game kind of like pokemon (actually, this series is 10 years than pokemon). This game series rewards patient and persistent players due to its extremely unforgiving, but completely fair, battle system. One of my favorite games on the system.
Pokémon X/Y: I feel that this is a step down from B/W. The story is simpler and the routes feel more bare than before. The in game content is lacking compared to other games as well. This is still a good game, but it suffers from the same problem every first game in a generation suffers from. If you liked the challenge/routes/content from gen 1-4, I would wait for ORAS in fall. This game is still fun though.
Kirby Triple Deluxe: If you liked Kirby's Return to Dreamland, this is the same game, but more polished. A very good game, though it felt a bit short.
Fire Emblem: Awaking: A long running SRPG series now on the 3DS. This game feels simpler than recent games. It has various difficulty modes to help you get into genre if you're not too good at SRPGs. A good game to get.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf: A good game to get if you're looking for a relaxing or slow paced game with lots to do. A real time sink, you may want to try it first to see if you like it.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate: The same as the Wii U version, the online servers for the 3DS version have been taken down. If you want multiplayer, get the Wii U version. You may want to wait for MH4U, which will be released in early 2015 internationally.
You may want to look into some of these games and series before you buy them. This is just what I think about these games.
Anyways, keep up the good work! I look forward to your next update.
