Infinity 2.0

As I was peering through my umm..."borrowed" subscription of GameInformer, I noticed an article involving Skylanders. Honestly, I've only got the first and haven't touched it yet, so probably not going to go too into it since it bouyed from Spyro's name and shouldn't have association...but it DID mention about Disney Infinity's new push.
Yep, Disney Infinity 2.0!
If you haven't heard, Disney brought out Marvel a long time ago...and like most franchises, they're going to milk it for what it's worth. "Marvel Super Heroes" is the term attached, but I prefer "2.0" for a reason I'll say in a moment...
Apparently, Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow (Remember? The Russian chick who liked the guy with the bow?) are packaged within with Captain American, the Hulk (SMASH!), and Hawkeye (Remeber? The guy with the bow who liked that chick? *snicker*) to follow.
Ok, I got this off wiki, give me a break. Maleficent is on there too...probably in anticipation of that film about her which looks...interesting I guess.
(on the thought of Spyro, let's see Epcot's proper mascot, Figment, get a figure! Heck, him and Dreamfinder are getting Marvel comic surprisingly.)
Anyway, I've broken the bank on my Vault...and proved that, yes, there's disc-locked content. If you want everything IN THE VAULT, you gotta have all the powerdiscs and stuff. You can't win it all.
Randall's still hovering at level 14 (I'm going PURE growth here, no level tricks for him, he's not a cheater!), and I've got a Hero Hall that's looking pretty spiffy. At first, I was under the thought that "aww great...I can't bring the figures I've worked on over can't I?"
This is where "2.0" comes in, and beats Skylanders and it's Portals to dust.
You CAN, apparently, bring your original group into 2.0! And what's more, they get access to the new stuff too! Again, wiki, don't lie to me. That "wha?" level cap of 15 goes to 20, giving me Fallout flashbacks, and there seems to be a "Skill Tree" addition. How it works? Dunno. Maybe you get points like in Borderlands every level to point into skills (hopefully your levels carry over. SHOULD, considering the Hall of Heroes and all). I'm hoping it's unique to each character though, and not all generic. Customization is a great game mechanic. It notes the Hulk can climb buildings...hopefully they don't forget that Randall can do that too and include that for him.
Apparently Power Discs are also going to include "Team-Ups", summoned-in characters to help you battle. Unsure exactly of the extent, but guessing with all the marvel characters out there to work with, a lot of them will be included. I'm guessing it's a match up to those opening helpers you see in the intro of Disney Infinity 1.0 and that "light warrior" toy from Lone Ranger.
Now, a big bit with Infinity is it's Toy Box mode. They SAY they're going to heavily improve it, as well as more user-friendly tools and interior areas.
One of my gripes with Infinity's Toy Box is some seemingly-simple additions. One of the biggest to me is text-related stuff. You know, your creating a game basically...so it's nice to have some objective here or there and some direction sometimes. Simple, but it wasn't there.
And don't get me started on the water.
Overall, I like that the original batch can be brought over to this new, and hopefully improved, edition. Comes out around September or so, so hopefully they'll start showing some gameplay toyboxing showcases as the months pass by.
...wait....does this mean that there will be a 3.0....WITH STAR WARS!? IN SPACE?! Jeez, that's my life...
Imagine THAT skill tree....force powers all over the place...oh man, what about the Dark Side powers?? *chagrins*
