well jury's still out for me, i saw them back then, i guess it was indiegogo i don't remember, and they weren't able to get their funding then

so i'm gonna wait a while before i commit

That awkward moment when you see that the name of the creator on Kickstarter is SUUPER close to one of your friend's names...

I heard of that game from Maximilian Dood from Youtube. He said it's technically supposed to be the spiritual successor to Bloody Roar. Also, his dog Benny is gonna be an actual character in the game as well :3

i was kinda interested till they wanted 500$ or so to be a background character...seemed like a money grab more than a labor of love after that

well I always am for supporting someones dream, but I have to agree...hearing that doesn't sound like something you would do for a creation from the heart...

I should point out that these people paid $1000 a pop to be background npc's for Skullgirls campaign a while back.

thing is, skullgirls has a wider appeal, as it doesn't fall into a furry subcategory, and furries have a very bad rep, so your going ot find a lot more of an audience with some having many more oppurtunities to be well off enough to do this. I mean, form my first look at the community here, most people, artists included, have financial trouble and difficulties raising money. there is no saying that was any more a reasonable price then 500$ for a backround character, but it was easier to find those willing to pay.though I should ask, did they pay outright, or was this a similar situation where they had that deal going on, for 1k a pop for backround characters?

It wasn't part of a kickstarter type deal from what I remember but other than that i saw it and just blew it off.

It was the same setup as any other crowd funding gig. They were tiered rewards and one of the rewards for giving 1k was the npc thing. And just like any other campaign they weren't charged anything until the project reached it's end date (and had met it's minimum goal of course. )

Too ambitious in my opinion. The director of the project has good intentions, though the game went from:

• A full 3D game similar to Tekken with a budget of $8,000, 10+ characters planned
• A 2D game similar to Street Fighter with an un-affordable budget, 8+ characters planned and 3 mini bosses that change forms
• Kickstarter for a demo in hopes of finishing two characters.

I've been keeping an eye on the development of the game for over a year now. Consider that the 3rd character in the roster is going to be a youtube personality. For the same price, you can get 45 unique playstyles with the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Thats just my opinion, it's really up to your own viewpoint whether there is value in their proposal.

I think you hit some good points here.

As a fighting game fan I don't see this as it is right now, as being anything special enough to get that income they're looking for. They're shooting too high for something they're not pouring everything into. They don't WANT this enough....there's not enough HUNGER....where's the HYPE?

Urgh .... now I'm kinda on the fence, cuz I was really hyped about that game, but ... I don't like going near ANYTHING that guy's touched. I'm gonna hafta really think on this decision. =/
