I didn't quite make it, but I did my damnedest.

Yesterday was Memorial Day here in the United States. It's a day that's meant to be set aside to honor and remember fallen military personnel.
With this year being the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the first world war, I planned on observing memorial day by posting 7 pictures during the week leading up to memorial day. Six of them were to be accompanied by poetry written by soldiers who fought in World War One, and the seventh was going to be accompanied by a poem written by myself. If I'd gotten the idea a week sooner I would have made it.
Under the time crunch, I was only able to finish 5 of the 6 drawings and about 85% of the poem. I was so tired by the end of it that I forgot to post the fifth drawing until today and I'll be posting the next 2 drawings as soon as they're finished.
In the mean time I would like to say to all members of the military; serving, retired, and deceased--regardless of nation--I did my best to think of and honor you in a meaningful way. I hope you find it acceptable; even if I fell a little short.

So did a lot of people who fought and died for our freedoms.
Let's pray we never have to send our armed forces into harm's way like that ever again.
