COMMISSIONS OPEN!! and intros all around
Hey all!
I have nearly 300 new watchers now with my ad up and I thank all of you! Let me introduce myself. I'm Daggerocha. I'm an animator/storyboard artist by trade. I graduated from Michigan State and College for Creative Studies (in detroit). You guys probably already know some of my more famous fellow graduates juco, ifus, toulouse, bloodshot23, Maxi-Rover etc. I live in Burbank, CA with my fiance juco, another fabulous animator/artist.
We moved out to Cali a few years ago to work in the animation industry, but the truth of it is that almost all animation is heavily outsourced to other countries like Korea, China, and Thailand. Hell even MLP is produced in Canada.
So here's the deal. I need commissions. I have horrendous student loans and Juco and my wedding to pay for later this summer. What padding I had is dried up and the local studios are still not hiring all that much. My goal is to live of my art. It's what I was trained to do. Because of my back I'm trying to avoid going back into some shitty retail job, though there are times I do miss gamestop...
Commissions could also help you guys out. Commissions mean more pencil mileage, which leads to a better looking portfolio, which leads to a studio job, which means lower animation and art prices for you guys! Yup, it's true, I'd love to lower some of my prices if I had some stable money coming in to make it more accessible to everyone.
So yeah, please note me if you're looking for some quality artwork. And if you want to pass the word on that I'm taking all types of commissions I'd be much obliged. I'm keeping the list going until my ad goes down in 2 weeks.

Thanks guys!

P.S. I was going to throw in my super duper sob story about my dog being sick and needing money to pay for it, but thankfully his illness gets better on his own and the vet bill wasn't too bad (or at least it was less than I thought an emergency would cost). He might look a little derpy for the rest of his days, but we can keep him happy and fed. :)
P.P.S. I'm thinking about starting a Weasyl account. Is that site good for commission work?

It might be helpful to link to examples in your gallery of specific commission styles you're open for, as well as base pricing so your customers have a good sense of what they can get from you. Links to awesome art from within the commission journal definitely help to entice buyers!
