Confuzzled 2014

I have returned from England and Confuzzled!
To begin with I will say that I had an amazing time at Confuzzled, in many ways it was like all the best
parts of Nordic Fuzzcon but twice as large in every way. There was more people, the hotel was larger, the
events were more epic, and it even felt like it lasted twice as long (But that may have been due to me
loosing half of last NFC in my room sewing).
From what I understood CFz was in a new hotel this year. The hotel seemed like a great venue for the
convention, it was spacious with an interesting layout and sizeable areas for rooms and events. The only
problem I myself ran into (and from what I heard some other folks as well) was that the hotel staff seemed
completely taken by suprise as to the ammount of people who would show up, and just how intensively they
would have to work during the convention. The worst example was the bar and food staff who did not seem to
have any system in place for taking more than one order at a time, during the most extreme cases leading to
waiting times of closer to an hour untill you could even order food o.o But most of the staff I talked to
was very friendly and curteous, like the friendly indian dude who was manning the bar at 6am in the morning
and got my order for a hamburger.
The furry convention itself was a whole lot of new stuff for me. I tried to attend every event that I
thought was interesting, but there ended up being a lot of overlap of things I wanted to do, and sometimes I
just missed an event that was starting without me remembering XD. I saw my first Pawpets show and was blown
away by how much effort and attention they put into it, and it was hilariously enjoyable. My hosts in london
tried to introduce me a bit to what the show was about by showing me recordings of previous years, but those
really do not compare to seeing it in person.
I was able to attend most of the main-stage events, and they were all things that I am happy I attended. The
most unexpected pleasure was probably the gameshow-parody "Furry furtunes" (alternate spellings at different
sources XD) which was hilarious.
Convention time I ended up spending in part lounging with people I knew, and then a lot of people I didn't!
I was very happy to meet a bunch of new furs, and hopefully got a couple of new friends from that.
I also got to fursuit a lot more than at the previous cons I had been at, and this time broke my record of
consecutive fursuiting by going ten hours in a row during the last day (Which I count as the day of the
closing ceremony). The ammount of fursuits was way larger than at NFC, every day at the con I kept getting
suprised by new fursuits that I had not yet seen before and towards the end I felt like I couldn't leave my
camera for even a minute except when I was suiting myself XD Particular squee moment was also when I
unexpectedly came across a girl cosplaying as a non-furry character, Rabbit from Steam Powered Giraffe.
I did attend a room party. I had a great time. That is all.
I also took the opportunity to visit London for a week in addition to the convention time while I was in
England. I went sightseeing in the city, saw some of the landmarks I could think of, went to the Tower,
Bridge, Dungeon, Eye, Tussauds, and other misc stuff in town.
A great big thanks to my hosts in england, the bunch
Leonerd,
Delph_bunny, ferret, nall, who housed me for part of my trip, and Roy who kept me for the rest. For the convention itself I can't narrow down the bunch of furs I had fun hanging out with to a manageable
list, so I'll just say a general thanks to you all XD I know, boring right?
Great con, hope to attend the next Confuzzled.
Eurofurence next!
