I cant specifically answer your question but i do recall that someone gifted me a mp3 that i played in windows media player... I cant quite recall when that was but i think it was sometime last year so... Hope that helps?

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_MP3 they were the first to offer not-DRM'd files, and it looks like basically everything they give you is DRM free at this time.

Further, http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custo.....deId=201377410 directly says that they're DRM-free by default, and while they're stored on the cloud, you can download them to whatever whenever.

It does, yeah, I was mostly just worried about the "are available for playback or download on any PC, Mac or compatible device" line. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't weaselwording or anything! Thanks!

I've never bought mp3s as such from Amazon.. but I have bought lots of CDs with Autorip which go through the same system.

Basically if you buy some music from amazon as a CD they give you the MP3 version too. And I've always been able to download those no problem.
