Lemme give it to you straight, y'all...

Art has pretty much always been a hobby for me. I occasionally sell stuff, but I've never had the intention of living off it or going through all kinds of crazy stuff to force myself to be better or anything. I progressed however I progressed. If I got better, I was happy. If I didn't, then I was disappointed, but it didn't mean that I was worried about my position in the furry fandom or as a commission artist or anything like that. I watched a lot of people I cared about trying to push themselves into the spotlight to be "popufur" to make more money or whatever goal it was they wanted, but I never felt that way and I'm never going to.
Yes, absolutely. I have been mostly absent from the furry community for years now. Obviously I pop in and submit something here and there, but the dirty reality of it is that's all it's going to be. If I post art, it's going to be here and there and out of the blue without any kind of warning, followed by long periods of silence. That's just how it is.
I knew several years ago that I would come to a point in my life where I had, for lack of a better way to put it, "grow out of" the art thing. I like to draw, and I like it when people appreciate what I draw, but I'm only doing it as something fun. Not for profit and not for e-peen. Truth be told, there are many other things I have decided I'd rather give my time to. Sure, I'd like to draw something, but I might also be really interested in a book I'm reading or want to knit or play a video game. My interests have always sort of come and gone like waves, but as of late, I just don't want to devote much energy to some of them as opposed to others.
I don't really understand this way of thinking myself, but some people find it unacceptable for people they watch to have long absences or otherwise update infrequently. I don't really get it, as I don't think there's any kind of watcher number limit. I'm sure I have people on my list who post about as often or maybe even less than I do, but I've never minded. Though, if you do mind, then you may want to make considerations...
