Been a while

I can't believe you're reading this!
So it's been quite some time since I posted a journal. A lots happened in the past year. I still check my FA everyday, but I don't ever really have anything to contribute, mostly due to my time being eaten up by work. So here's how it's been thus far.
August of 2013, moved in with some friends so i could work for a production company. The company was a bit new (only a year in business) but the owners have plenty of experience. Unfortunately, they couldn't pay me enough to justify staying there, I should have just moved to Cali, mistake, but we all learn from them. Fun news though, one of the videos I worked on won a Silver Telly, so I am now an award winning cinematographer and editor! hooray! one more thing for the resume.
I paid to have my mate
flown up to live with me. She's still with me and I definitely love her with all my heart.
September - December, moved back to CT with my mate, started working through a temp agency at the old company I used to work for, and that was pretty much it.
December 2013, decided I wanted to join the army. I vowed I would lose weight so I could. Zell and I decided to move to TN so we could stay with her family until I enlisted; mostly due to the fact that certain members of my family were starting to get a bit hostile.
January - May 2014, made the move to TN. I managed to snag a job at a injection molding factory. The pay is nothing to write home about, but it actually pays the bills. Student loans suck.
February, Found out that eczema is a disqualifier for the military! well there goes that plan!
June - on the hunt for an apartment!
Past year seems so much easier when written down in short form, but it was rather difficult, and still is, especially these last few months. Zell's family is basically a bunch of christian zealots. She hasn't found work yet. A lot of drama going on. Basically, we're gonna get out and get our own place ASAP. Been waiting for her to get a job so we could like, actually eat... but privacy and peace of mind are important too.
So what's the plan now? Definitely not stay here for the rest of our lives. When the lease is up on whatever place we have, we're headed west to Cali. We're going to save as much as possible (goal: 10k, minimum goal 5k) and sell all of our shit and head out with nothing more than a bag of clothes and our laptops. Not that I have much to sell anyway. I also plan on trading in my SUV for something a little more gasoline friendly during the course of the year.
I'm also constantly applying for jobs. Something has to bite eventually. And if I do land something during the next year, I will gladly break my lease to get out of here.
I know there comes a time when everyone's gotta knuckle down and roll up their sleeves, and I'm doing it right now. This isn't what I was meant to do though. I didn't spend four years of my life learning for nothing.
My biggest regret is not just heading to LA and chancing it with the little cash that I had saved up. Now I've gotta start from scratch.
Sorry I haven't drawn anything for quite some time. I do a few sketches occasionally, but rarely have I wanted to sit down and draw. Especially working a 3rd shift job with super crazy overtime hours.
