Commission Info Update June 2014
Hey guys,
Thank you for the continued support and interest in my work!
I’ve decided on a name for my current designs: Perry Girls!
Why this name? Because the girls’ bodies are Pear shaped. I love cider, and cider made from Pears is called Perry!
I’m going to make up three different prices sheets; Humanoid, Anthro, and Advanced.
Humanoid; this group will comprise mainly of Plantigrade characters with flat Human faces, and small human or elf ears. They can have hair dreadlocked or in a single sheet around their head. They may also have hands with fingers or a mitten, and either shoes, or feet with the big toe separated from the rest.
Anthro; this group is for characters with Digitigrade legs, and Muzzled faces. They may have decor on their body and limbs such as scutes, fins, mane, horns, antlers etc. Their toes can be like those of canines or felines with four at the front, or like that of a bird with one of the toes pointing backwards. They may also have a Tail or prominent ears.
Advanced; in a nutshell, this is talking about Six limbed Characters. Six limbs is my limit at the moment, and consist of two legs, and four arms or two arms and two wings.
There may be characters that fit in between these types, such as winged characters, and – what I call – Mono dorsals (everything under the belly is one long tube, like snake people and mermaids). I want to get more accurate prices for these options before I publish my finalised price sheets. If you feel like your commission will overlap any of these sections, we can talk about it in a personal message/note once I’ve finished calculating times and prices.
I have read several articles on the matter and am calculating my price using this formula:
Hourly rate X Number of Hours worked + Cost of materials per Art Doll = Price of Art Doll
The pricing of my materials is complete, as is the basic price for Humanoid characters; all I want to do now is time myself making a few more parts of anatomy which will feature in the Anthro and advanced choices (wings, muzzle, tails, digitigrade legs and toes, scutes etc.).
For the moment, I will only be making female characters with the proportions of my female buck: Pear-shaped ‘Perry girls’. I have plans in the future to come up with a male buck, and even feral bucks as well, but for the moment, I want to get the most that I can out of this one. As you may well know, Pattern design is a lengthy, brain taxing (but fun and rewarding) process, so I’d like to get as much out of this current pattern that I can before I go starting a new one.
I am currently on a course to become a teaching assistant, and my course finishes in mid July. I can work on your commissions once I have put the price sheets up, but will be working on it part time until then.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask, as this will help me with anything I may have missed.
Best wishes
Lou
