Actually, I prefer a sort of switch gender! With many other creatures that aren't human and are related to amphibians or fish families, they can switch genders in lieu of lack of opposite gender mates. Or in the case of clownfish, if the dominant/largest fish has gone/been eaten, the second largest will switch genders to take dominance. I would think, that some frogs also do the same thing! So gender switch according to seasons or how many of either sex their are is the best option!

It'd be fine too but I'm more a switch gender kinda person, I personally like herms myself but on FA they tend to get overused. Lately, I'm favoring more herms that are less obvious, more androgynous looking or mix gendered characters. :3

Typically I see frogs as male, like if I were to find one hopping along I'd think to myself; "Well hello little guy!" right off the bat Personal preference leans towards female, mostly because of the prior statement, and because of female amphibians can range white the many variables in appearance~♫

Depends on the frog!

Since frogs really are male or female they could be that but when it comes to ocs they could be either or something else completely.

I had a frog for a while and I never got to figure out of it was male or female but I call her a she.

Some frogs and toads I call male and others I don't, when it comes to wild ones and ones you find that aren't ocs and phibsonas.

I spoke to a few froggy members recently and it seems that the looks of the character seem to define to some extent the gender, It seems the more slender and fit-looking frogs/toads are male, whereas the more curvy/plump ones are either female and/or herms, interesting huh?

I agree with Markettle. I prefer guys ^^ mostly because I love guys anyways, but there's also less male frogs and usually the male frogs/toads I see are like the big feral kind and eat up women XD classical non-fur vore

Hehe I can see why you might prefer the male and/or vore type, and I do LOVE the original male vore frog characters such as the ones on your account, the whole eating thing is very accidental and almost makes it out to be 'Ah well, that's frogs for you!" very cute!

I guess it depends on the subject I’m looking at since, in my opinion, frogs/toads have such an androgynous appearance to them. Plus you have to take in consideration that sexual dimorphism, size, color, and form can vary greatly among the species. It’s hard to peg a frog as being masculine or feminine.

Like if you were to ask a person if a dog and cat are male or female, most people would say that the dog is male and the cat is female regardless of their actual gender. If you were to present that same question with a frog I assume most people would shrug their shoulders and say “I don’t know, it’s a frog.”

Generally speaking I prefer female and feminine formed frogs/toads over male and masculine formed frogs/toads. I guess it’s because I’m a heterosexual male and I appreciate the female form a little bit more; but that’s just aesthetically what I look for first when searching for frogs/toads, I have no problem with male or herm frogs/toads.

True, very much in the eye of the beholder! I think generally frogs tend to be genderless, therefore the gender of the character is down to the owner deciding what appeals to them
