Skyrim and Product names
My wife's been modding with the Skyrim for a while now and has been working rather exhaustively on trying to create a script for wines and cheeses; namely that you'd take certain products, mix them together, and make wines or cheese that you then could age for a more potent results.
One area she's run into a bit of trouble is coming up with ideas for names of these things. Obviously, some of her first creations is "Sheogorath:Mad God Mead" and "Clavicus' Vile Brew" but she's been a bith short on getting input for other good ideas.
So if you play Skyrim, or the other ES games, what do you thing would be a neat idea for a name of a drink, or a type of cheese?
Thanks.
Now, back to the drawing board.

Cyrodilic Brew
Bloodwine
Wild Honey Mead
Aged Bruma Mead
Argonian plum-ale
Obviously the only name for a cheese is Dick.
Those sound like good ideas?
The Gray Prince Wine (Possibly as the most aged and expensive; a reference to Oblivion and perhaps implied to have been endorsed by the former Arena champion.)
Shivering Cheddar
Smoked Hadvar
Frostbite
And as a joke, Sourpuss ;P
That's all I've got off the top of my head though, sorry. XP
-- Fus Ro Daquiri
-- Winterhold Ice Wine
-- Maiq the Rye.....r
Green moon Orc cheese tastes like an orcs ass butt boasts strength
Talmor Shape Edam a milky pale manta boaster
Black rind Dwarven very rare still good because its sealed in magically black wax
Salty moedoc a Dunmer cheese with mushrooms blended in makes ya see things
Talo's blood red mead cures what ills ya
Daugr gulp one drink and your death to the world
Gray beards copper brandy makes ya shout with joy
Uncle Orgnars ol' troll slayer 'not recommended for old trolls'
Drunken huntsmen mead... Now get this arrow out of my arse!
Fus Ro Damn Good Cheese
Vampire's Blood
Jarl's Choice
Please provide feedback on those, I personally Like that second one.
As such, I think that the first 2 would not be that good for this version, since when the game starts no one thinks dragons are still around. But I do like the last 2, and I think I will use the Jarl's Choice one. I had thought of Sanguine Wine (you know, the deadric prince sanguine, or by definition, the color of blood) it could be a specialty added by the Dawnguard DLC.

Tyvian brandy
Winterhold Winter Wine
Windhelm Old Ale
Riften Roggenbier
Falkreath's Famous Fruit Ale
Whiterun Witbier (wheat beer - possibly just Whiterun Wheat)
Markarth Red Ale
Dawnstar Pale Ale
Morthal Malt Liquor
Solitude Imperial Stout
for the smaller cities, something could be named for either the city, or the Inn there.
I'd have to dig into the wiki to get all the cities/inns/innkeeper's names to sort for references... How many recipes are you looking to add? ;)
Also, trying to come up with new recipies that make sense for what you are doing can be a little daunting as well.
Okay then.
Akatosh - Kynareth - Dibella - Zenithar - Arkay - Julianos - Mara - Stendarr - Talos
Nocturnal - Auriel - Azura - Mephala - Boethiah - Hermaeus Mora - Malacath - Namira - Sanguine - Sheogorath - Vaermina - Clavicus Vile - Mehrunes Dagon - Peyrite - Meridia - Molag Bal
...crap, that's a lot of 'em.
...sorry, not being useful, i know. Also a bit intoxicated right now. But if you have anything you're stuck on for recipes or names, shoot me a note, I'd be happy to help brainstorm.
Just wanna check: by "distilleries", do you mean something like actual alembics, or the stuff you find in the current meaderies? Beer, wine, and mead are not distilled. Spirits are - completely different processes.
I'm asking mostly because I'm trying to decide if I should be coming up with names for Spirits (Like Mad God 20/20), or beers (like, say, Dawnstar Pale Ale... my favorite from my earlier list)

Then we have a set of shelves with the maturing scripts that you put the bottle on the shelf and over a period of days it goes from weaker strength to stronger. I know it is not accurate, but it is what I have to work with. Plus I am still learning nifscope, so I can take bits and pieces of other things and put them together. But it has has kind of a big learning curve. Since I am also teaching myself to script and trying to learn blender...well, updates are being put out as often as I can.
Akatosh - a few possibilities: Akavit (or variants like Aka-viit, Aka-vitae), Dragon's Blood, Dragon's Tongue, Dragon's Voice, The Spirit of Kings, Martin's Blood
- The last a reference to Martin Septim, the last of the Septim Emperors, and his sacrifice. Besides, it would enable a Nord to have a *ahem* "Three martini Lunch" :)
Arkay - The Little Death, The Cycle, Water of Life, Staff of Life
Dibella - Skyrim Comfort
- this takes a moment to explain. Everything I tried with "love" or "beauty" or similar sounded like something a Nord Male would never drink. :) But Southern Comfort is used in a number of "sex-named" drinks, and seemed a decent fit.
Julianos - Wisdom in a Bottle
Mara - Mother's Milk,
Stendarr - Mercy's Touch
Talos - Blood of the Divine
Kynareth - White Lightning
Zenithar - Honest Work, Workingman's Wine, Trader's Tipple
...After thinking about this for a bit, I see much of the trouble you were having. Most of the names I could come up with sound like modern Mixed drinks, not Liquors themselves. But I hope a few of these are useful.
