Did you bang it on something recently and get a bruise?

Several times now I've gotten a really bad bruise that ended up with a hard, sore lump under the skin. It's called a subdermal hematoma and is usually nothing to worry about.

They cause some mild swelling, soreness, and discomfort, usually a day or two after the injury or bruise. I've got one on my right leg right now above the ankle where I banged it on my bike.

Ouch, I hope your ankle is alright. D:


:< No, I've had it since before Confuzzled where my hand ached, but I damaged it pretty good while carrying bags into the hotel. It didn't so much hurt right away, ached a little, but the aching kept getting more noticeable. There hasn't been any visual signs of damage until this bump showed up. XD Luckily no discoloration, but it's solid and doesn't hurt to press on. :< Went in this afternoon to have it checked and the nurse thinks instead of arthritis it's tendonitis. Regardless I'm on anti inflammatory medication and if it doesn't go down, I'll have to get an injection into my thumb. T^T

My ankle is just fine, but thanks for asking! With this kind of hematoma, your body breaks them down slowly on their own, but they can last for several weeks.

Glad to hear you got your issue checked out. Glad it doesn't sound like anything major.
