Being the fact that i'm a new furry on this site, lets tell how I became one to start with and begin with that. all my life I always liked stuff with werewolves and other things like that,also liked animals aswell. in high school I always hung around the anime kids cause they were my friends and we had something incommon(anime).even though I liked anime I never seemed to be a true anime fan(don't get me wrong I really like anime,I just never really fit in like my other friends did in the anime fandom).shortly after while scavenging through old video games I found an interesting game series called bloody roar. I absolutely loved the series cause it had werewolves,weretigers,werelions,weredragons~ect. until august 2008 I basically searched for antything related to were beings, but also never really seemed like those gothic monster fanatics. I was basically a cross between an anime fan and a gothic. in august'08 I was looking through some werewolf and digimon pics on google search when I came across really nice scetch of a humanized buff gaomon. I clicked on the source of the pic and wound up on a site called furry art pile(that is exactly when I fell down the rabbit hole, and into the furry fandom) I searched throughout the site and saw pictures of anthro animals. the pictures seemed like a cross between anime and fantsy. further searching the site I came across words like fursona,yiff,scritch,and furry.while enjoying my time on this nice site with this art that I really enjoyed, I decided to look up stuff on wikipedia like '' what are furries''. after finding out what furries are I went to youtube to find out what would make someone a furry, and after watching some videos titled ''what are furries'' and ''how I became a furry'' I found out these people basically liked the same things I did,they were not quite anime fans,goths nor fantasy fanatics, they were furries nothing more nothing less. after finding out what I needed to know I realized that I always was a furry I just didn't know there was a whole SUB CULTURE/FANDOM on what I liked. I seemed really excited to find out I was apart of a fandom full of people that have the same interests as me. It may just be me (even though most people get creeped out when I tell them what a furry is) but i'm proud to call myself a furry! And now you know a little about me.
