Life... It Happens...

Thursday morning (2:00Am) my dad and I had to rush my mom to the hospital because she was throwing up blood. This is the second time this has happened (last time was back in 09), fortunately this time wasn't as bad as last time as we didn't feel the need to call an ambulance and instead drove her there ourselves (also no blood transfusions need). Unfortunately I had to work that day so not having had hardly any sleep I had to call into work to tell them I wouldn't be in, which they understood and told me to worry. After mom was taken to a room we then left her and went home to get some sleep; after calling family to spread the news.
Friday morning it seemed like everyone in the family decided to visit mom, though not all at once, it was a little odd because one group would arrive stay with her for a little and when the next group showed up the previous group would leave shortly after the others arrival. When my dad and I visited we found out more on what had happened; it turns out that she had four veins in her throat start bleeding. So they banded them and put her on a liquid diet.
Today when we visited they had her walking around and off the saline drop, as well as removed one of the IV's. Also they had moved her to a semi-liquid diet as they had feed her oat meal for breakfast and for lunch she had pudding to go with her potato broth. With luck she's be on solid food tomorrow and will be able to return home soon.
