Windows update fucked over my skype.

So first off;
yes I have read and tried all the other fixes to thing problem.
So I use skype desktop, and would like to keep using it as I can’t stand the other form of skype.
my skype was being kinda weird, so I looked some shit up and I was told updating to 8.1 should fix it. So after forever of putting it off, I did
What happens now is whenever I try to open it it not only crashes, but it crashes my whole windows to the point where I have to restart my computer.
so no skype for me.
