Out of curiosity and at the risk of seeming crude: Have you had the operation yourself?

Yes. It all stemmed from ending up with pneumonia after a trip to Disney in 2011. In order to drain the fluid from my lungs, they had to do a similar operation to feed the tube down my sinuses and into my lungs. I spent two weeks in the hospital, 4 days alone in the ICU while they tried to break my 106* fever. Thankfully I had good insurance as the total bill exceeded $83K and my co-pay was only $4100.

Ugh. It's bad enough when I have a cold, I can only imagine how tough it is for you. Glad that the surgery was successful, and praying for quick healing and seeing you back to your old self soon.

Hopefully it'll help with colds as it'll be a little easier to breathe out of my right nostril whenever I get a cold.

Oh, my! Recover quickly and I hope it helps. I'm doing a sleep study right after AC to see if they can help my airway at night, but I don't think it will result in anything as drastic as your procedure. I hope you are really happy with the results!

Getting a CPAP machine? I recently did a study for that too. It does help. Really makes your sleep time feel much more relaxing.

Oh you'll be so happy you did it. I am sure that is not the sentiment right now, but when you start to breathe better, you will agree that you would do it again in a heartbeat. The nasty swelling and pain is temporary, being able to breathe better will be life long! Get well soon!!

Yeah, I have been told to do this for nearly 15 years. I really regret not doing sooner. All the grief it would have saved me.

Oh yeah, I've been up and about for about a week now. Nose is still a little crusty (on the inside! YUCK!) and it hurts to touch it. I won't be giving any Eskimo Kisses for a while, but I feel fine! Thanks so much for the concern! I appreciate it.

For me, this was the best thing I could have done for my nose. I can't believe how much nicer it is to breathe out of both nostrils! I just wish I'd done this earlier.

Nope. Recovery was quick and I just got a clean bill of health from my Ear-nose-throat doctor. Everything worked out perfectly!
