Hiiiii
This is for everyone that I've met from FA.
>>Proceed
I don't spend a lot of time trying to meet new people. I'm terrible at it, despite trying way to hard.
When I DO come into contact with people, I scare them away. Mannerism, disposition, not getting normal people, etc.
It doesn't help that most furries completely suck as people.
*ahem*
But anyway....
There's been a bunch of you guys (mostly musicians), that have really always surprised me.
You guys and gals are so kind, polite, and down to earth.
It's always awesome to hear from you, it's always great to talk to you.
It's kind of astounding that I've met SO many cool individuals. Especially in this place.
And it's also nice to talk to furries that aren't completely despicable human beings. (Not that being a furry does anything to one's behavior, but anyway)
Thanks so much for existing.

TRUE DAT
Go to a convention with friends. It's miserable going by yourself. I've been to a couple fur conventions, and I even volunteered at Phoenix Comicon (I worked 6 hours a day, but I had the rest of the con for free). These things are best attended with people you know.
After you've seen all the vendors, attended the panels you wanna see, and spent way too much on food and MLP plushies, it just gets kinda meh.
At Phoenix Comicon, people were nice and friendly, which wasn't surprising because it's PG environment with people and families of all ages. Being a dick in that setting can cause waves. And plus, Phoenix is hot as hell, which, I think, mellows people out (that's just a theory).
At the fur conventions, people are way more secluded, most people seems to know each other (so that high-school click BULLSHIT kinda kicks in), and ugh. I mean, I'm making it sound worse than it really is, but I've always had a lot weird luck.
PRO TIP: Furries over 30 are super interesting people, you should at least wave and smile when you see one
Our fandom is really a blessing in the middle of the stormy sea.
Nearly all the furries I meet IRL are just UGH, whereas people I meet on the introwebz seem to be way, way more tolerable
I mean, it doesn't always work out that way, but I've met 1 furry IRL that I've actually became friends with
(Granted, he's like one of my best friends, but still)
And I'll agree with you, there's something kind of special about the fandom, because people om this website are really polite.
Like, people. Being polite on the internet. The theory itself in crazy. Seeing it in practice is even more bewildering, and awesome!
