On the same sorta thread, Animals -> Human. Hell, I'd even say Animal -> Anthro is less common then I sorta wish it was.

It does make sense. People like seeing stuff happen to other humans, lets them put themselves more into it. But, I do think animal TF's are actually pretty interesting.

I do tend to vary it up, but yeah, often I find people really passionately want to start human and become something else. Seems reasonable, though. I am quite fond of making feral creatures into sapients, anthro or otherwise. Vice versa is also true. But then, I like critters. :D

Somewhere on the big list of ideas I have a man who decides to get away from it all, so he goes into the forest and casts a spell and changes into a fox and lives out the rest of his days in simplicity.

Then the real story starts. Somewhere nearby, a fox finds himself victim to the side of that spell nobody usually writes about, where he's forced to turn into that same human and pick up that life where it left off. Maybe he'll do a better job! Who knows. :3

Yeah, I love the idea of one to many tfs, like a human turning into a nest of rats :3
Another one ya don't see too often is multiheaded tfs, like cerberus, hydra, or chimera tf.
Clone tf is another one I don't see a lot of.

I wrote a hydra TF a couple months ago. Not sure if you'd like it, but it's in my gallery if you want to read it.

I do like it. I like multi-head TF too, that's a bit more common and cerbies and hydras are always fun.
Clones are different! Rats, bats, mice and insects are good fun, I am still enjoying bigger things like weasels and Azi got made into some cute possats! ^^

But in the area of clones, I kinda like "mass-produced" critter TF. Being changed into one of many individual creatures, potentially artificial like latexy toys or clockwork and set up so that you know each one is essentially identical. :D Good times.

I love TF's as well, but one thing I don't see much of is UB TF TG RB, so wish there was more of this but it's so uncommon since I guess most don't want to go that route. Personally I would love to have it done to myself.

Hmm, I seem to remember seeing quite a bit of unbirth/TF.. though I can't remember if it involved TG as welll. I kinda like it as a good way to reset someone's identity and start over. Ooh, or as a very serious way of hiding witnesses for protection.. or making them disappear!

Those are all great points, maybe throw in some species changes. Still a lot that can be done with those different things

Merging and fusion other than CV and CTF seem to be an eclectic taste. I don't know what I'd do if not for  unstableimagination making so many of them.
I also remember  arania doing a comic where a TF happened via the injection of magic goo from tentacles. That's a cool idea, and one I don't think I've seen anywhere else. And I mean a real TF not "Oh they're fat/hyper/mpreg/futa now because they're filled with goo".

Mmm, merging. I think that might be one of the first more unusual ones I looked at in TF. Shall have to check out UI's art! I have a merge commission on the way.. maybe a story to go with it, we'll see.

More hive mind! I think there's loads to do with one-to-many changes.. they can all be different, or share consciousness; they can remain quite like themselves, or be changed drastically so the group of them are nothing like the individuals were. Different species, different genders, acting strictly as a group or pretty independent. Certainly enough to keep me busy on a busy train ride. :D

I'd like to see more things like insects and spiders.

I also like the idea that  QuixoticFur mentioned with someone turning into multiple creatures - such as a flock of birds, nest of snakes, etc.

Nall is often half-spider. Not quite made it a TF before, usually he's enjoying the fine properties of spider silk. Bees and wasps are quite fun and relatedly, I've seen a moth out there, they can be quite nice. ^^

This may not be uncommon enough to qualify... but you really don't see much female-to-male TGTF stuff out there, and certainly not solo, though there's several examples of TGTF swap.

I also don't see nearly enough misfitting clothes in TF artwork... usually the subjects are already naked, the clothing transforms with them, or the clothing tears and falls away entirely.

Not so much on the TF theme, but I also like it when a character's build changes substantially from, say, muscular to lean or vice versa, tall to short, etc. Not necessarily "muscle growth" as is commonly seen, and definitely not hyper or micro/macro. Similarly, changing size of genitals and sexual characteristics within normal size ranges is also a fave for me, preferable with a focus on the embarassment of having an unwieldy or tiny endowment.

Heh, sorry if this drifted off-topic, but I feel like a lot of my interests exist in a weird in-between of what people often write/draw... you don't see lots of misfitting clothes with adult themes in TF because if you're going to go for adult themes nudity is a plus for most. You don't see a lot of sexual characteristic growth/shrinking within norms either :(

I do remember a couple of artists who did quite a bit of female to male. Been quiet from them though, at least I've not seen it come up prominently lately.

AR is about the best place for misfitting clothes, I find. There could be more in male-to-female TF, traditionally. (I kinda like spotted hyenas, I've been creating a society for my new hyena guy Shy, a bit shy and reserved and highly curious in a matriarchal kind of world. ^^)

Hey, it's a journal about TF you don't see very often, seems on topic to me. :D

I suppose I can't argue that they're -too- rare, but body swaps are fun - especially if a power differential is involved. >:)
