FA Search function?

My prediction: FA Search returns, everyone rejoices, SQL overloads and the site explodes. Donations are then necessary to bring site up. Due to database issues, search is removed indefinitely. Wash rinse repeat :3
FA+

FA Search function... it shall be done once we have the following...
1) Clear picture of big foot
2) Aliens live on Oprah
3) When the above two are done.
For me, I miss the username list. It was just a simple list of usernames with their links. That's how I got to initially find everyone long long ago.
The fact that FA has only one database server doesn't help. A database that doesn't scale can go POOF at any second, especially if it's based on MySQL. PHP and MySQL are kind of a pair, so I often wonder.
I second the username list. I understand why search takes a while to implement because I have some coding experience, but there are some very simple interface changes that would take only a day or less to implement and can instantly make any community site 100 times better. Disabling journal notices, for example.
Well, in the end, we're not getting any updates worth mentioning or puts us in the lead. But hey, we're better than hentai foundry, that has a horrid layout and painful submission process. I can't complain. FA is decent. Well, 'now' it's decent. For me at least. Sure, I can't find anyone without fishing through faves and submissions, but it has porn, a fair speed, a note system, and doesn't leech us for basic features (like DA). Almost makes me not mind the ads for gay furry porn..
FAP was far more difficult despite being Web2.0™ to hell, and DA is a nightmare with the gallery link halfway down the damn page, plus the wretchedly "clever" gallery navigation. DA doesn't work right with JavaScript turned off, and FAP without JS was totally broken.
Frankly, the interface is the main reason I never bothered with DA, SA, and FAP. I'd prefer they spend more time cleaning up the code (my Firefox HTML Validator plugin throws a tantrum), rather than redesign everything to make it more slick and contemporary. They also better not get rid of the blue template. I fail to understand why people like black so much.
And white (or any other color) text on black hurts. Same goes for black text on white. I have to go light-blue layout since the dark is just this weird color with white text on it. It's a bit confusing how the navigation menu (or certain links) 'jumps' from the top to the left panel sometimes depending on what page yer on (like, they couldn't of just put it in one spot). Sometimes I find the 'other people's submissions' page instead of 'my' submissions. But, ehh.. It's not much of a conundrum to me.
tags are the new search
But who needs images when you've got color tags and emoticons.
And this is all there is to it for the search function....
Yeah, that sounds like it will end well.
Because the reason why Yak couldn't do it, was because the old server's make up was too complicated or something.
HAHAHA.
HAH.
From what he told me, a search function was too hard to do, and from what I saw, tweaking the things that didn't need tweaking was better to do. :B
Who needs a search function when my inbox is ROYALLY RETARDED.
So it'd just cough up limited search results, so too many searches= slower results.
Probably use a separate less powerful server to do it.
Works fine in general programming but I don't know enough web systems stuff to make one. XD
