The Ramblings of a Dumb Bun...
So lately, I’ve been seeing lots and lots of hate all over the internet… Maybe all over the real world, too, but I don’t get out much. Why is that, though? I don’t get it… Like, we were doing pretty good for a while! Not awesome, but okay… We were headed in the right direction, where people were starting to get along, and people were trying to be more inclusive or whatever, but now… Everyone is so dead-set on being unique and special, both as individuals, and everything else, too, that we’re becoming exclusive instead. Again.
I’ve seen so many problems with all the different races, and genders, and sexualities, and… Everything and anything that can make someone different. You can’t even praise someone else’s race anymore without being a racist. I saw someone say you can’t do anything having to do with the Day of the Dead because it’s strictly a Hispanic thing and it’s insulting to them. You can’t celebrate foreign holidays, or appreciate their styles, or… Anything, anymore, apparently. Except white people. Have at white people. Attack them all you want. That’s still racism, though, and people seem to forget that.
As for genders… Transgender, agender, cisgender… Fine. They’re all fine. None of them are wrong… So why do people from each “group” have to attack everyone else? I’ve seen transgendered people attack cisgendered people just for having genders and sexes that line up. What’s so gross and awful and terrible about that?
Sexualities, I don’t even have to go into… They’ve been a problem for as long as sexualities have been a huge thing… I still don’t understand why people have to attack others over them, though… I mean, who are they hurting by loving who they love?
I also don’t understand feminism. Feminism is awesome. Feminism is great. Women are people too! Absolutely! But the people that take it way too far have managed to ruin feminism. I didn’t even think that was possible! Feminism isn’t about “women are better than everybody else and we should kill all men”. Feminism is about “women are people too”. Feminazis scare me. A lot.
I’ve heard a lot of people that are minorities, and women, and transgendered, or gay, or… whatever, and things like that, attack “cis, white, men” really, really hard just for existing. I’ve heard them attack the three individually a lot too. “OH YOU JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND OUR STUGGLE AND YOU’VE NEVER HAD TO WORK A DAY IN YOUR LIFE AND YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND PAIN”… Whining like that and attacking people isn’t going to make anyone want to understand you… It’s going to make people dislike you… And everyone knows pain. I mean, I’m cis and white, so I’ve got two out of the three horrible, awful things down, right? But I’m still looked over for jobs, and I’m ignored, and scoffed at for being big. Obviously, the people that attack the cis, white, men don’t really know any cis, white, men. Most of them are miserable. They work so hard to put up this façade of functionality and normalness that they don’t have time to be an actual person. They all have someone that hates them, someone they hate, someone they love that’s disappointed in them… Everyone knows pain, and I hate the people that say they’re the only ones that do.
As the child of a hippie, all this hate makes my heart hurt so, so badly, and it’s all uncalled for. Why not, instead of attacking people we don’t know, and wasting our time driving wedges between everyone for every little thing that’s different… We just focus on weeding out those jerks that are actually bad to people? The people that do things for nothing other than to hurt other people?
Eh… I dunno… Just thoughts… I hate hate.

I'm talking about women attacking men because they can. They've got it in their head that it's empowerment. That's why a woman can punch her boyfriend/husband, and other women will cheer her on, when it is absolutely abuse, and a man can't do the same.
Sexual harassment and the way women can take advantage of rape claims are absolutely terrible. The fact that men can't call rape, and "can't be raped" is disgusting. It's not a joke. It's not something to smile about. I think it's something that needs to be sorted out now.
Everything in this world has it's strengths and weaknesses, that includes races, genders, sexualities, literally everything. It's what makes them unique and special. People seem to pick out their strengths.. and other's weaknesses, and focus on them more often than not. Either that or they don't understand something, and it's just plain human nature that when someone is confused by something to be cautious of it, that leads to blocking it off, which leads to misunderstandings, which leads to dislike, and eventually hate. Those who think you can't praise someone else's race, or their heritage, or culture.. In my eyes personally that's wrong. You should be able to praise whatever you'd like.
It's one thing to judge others poorly, it's another to praise them, if you want to celebrate in their holiday or appreciate their styles or have anything to do with their culture you should be completely allowed to without so many walls and people telling you no.
Honestly.. who gives a flying fluff what race anyone is! What does it matter? Whats it matter if you're gay, straight, bi, this race, that race, whatever! I don't understand why people cling to such old disrespectful thoughts towards others, judging them on things that don't even matter. It's really sad, to be honest. Think of what a wonderful place the world could be if only people would get along, not worry about things that didn't concern them, and just let others live their lives the way they wanted to be lived. As of late I've heard so much anti-gay talk. Or possibly more just that now that it's out there for me, I've been listening more. But either way.. Who cares who marries who? Are they marrying you? Nope. So why is it their problem? They should just leave well enough alone and let others be happy.
And I don't know much about the whole feminism stuff, but I have heard bits here and there. Honestly.. I couldn't care less what gender people are, they're people. Women and Men make the same mistakes, make the same choices, and do the same stuff day after day. Neither is perfect and neither is better than the other, it's just people like to point out other's flaws before they point at themselves. It's alright to be behind a cause, but once you take it past the point of being acceptable all you do is hurt it, and people seem to forget where the line stand and just keep on going more often than not. With many things.
The main thing I've seen is when people get backed into a corner they tend to lash out at others, try to blame something or someone else. When one of the "Groups" is backed up and blamed by another they lash out at another, then they do it to another, and so on, and so forth, in a chain that doesn't really seem to have an end. Personally to me there are no groups, there are no lines, there are no differences. Everybody and everything is unique in it's own way, especially people. And for everything in this world there is an opposite. For happy there's sad, for hot there's cold, and for every person on the planet there's more than likely there's somebody else with the exact opposite opinions. I've grown to accept that. Somewhere in the world there's someone, maybe someone's that despise everything I love and love everything I despise, there's nothing I can do about it, there's no reason for me to get involved, I don't know them nor do I want to, and their business is their own. If people could learn to mind their own business and just love each other for just being themselves instead of not being like them, and be open-minded instead of shutting themselves off to things they don't understand I think the world would be much friendlier towards each other.
It seems like people deliberately go out of their way to drive in the wedges that tear people apart that made them upset in the first place, and until they can forget the past and just be kind to each other, it's not going to stop. Maybe someday in the future it'll get more manageable and people will be able to live without being in fear of who they are and there will be no conflict over being unique in the world. But until then we've just got to put up with it and just live our own lives despite them.
And Toby, you yourself are a wonderful person, you're sweet, you're kind, you're considerate and generous~ You've always been there for me when I need a friend and you've always been there for others too, to my knowledge, and you've just made the world an all around better place~ If more people were as sweet as you maybe the world wouldn't be so hostile. I hope you never change who you are and that you always stay so sweet and kind and amazing~ <3 *Huggles*
well said
there's a mentality people have to hate those who hated them but, many don't see that line when they take it too far. and become the very monster they were pushed around by.
then they end up attack those who actually supported their cause.
an example is, you know how many straight people are fighting FOR gay rights? people don't need to be part of a cause to fight for it. be careful who you attack people, friendly fire is a thing.
have no respect to people who are so simple minded they just lash out and blindly attack others, regardless of their reasoning.
blind hate in general needs to die but it never will...
I really don't care what anyone says, but in comparison to the majority of people on the planet, if you're posting on the internet and you're not completely homeless you most likely are doing better off than the majority of people on the planet. If you were born into a family that lives in a house with more than 2 or so rooms, you're doing a lot better than most people on this earth.
After spending a few years doing things like social services in immigration and social care, and them even some humanitarian work in Africa I found something very odd, people over there, in horrible conditions, can often still be happy, whereas people that I would have thought were under much less stress (back home) were often very unhappy, including me some time after I went back home. Obviously this isn't representative of everyone ( and I'm not at all implying that ) but it was interesting
When people are not put under massive stress from the threat of war, violence, starvation, piracy, enslavement, bandits or whatever else people have been putting up for up until the past 30 years or so, other kinds of stress begin to become more prominent among the average person. Social pressures, racism, internalized hatred, depression (and a whole range of other conditions) become a much more focused area of social health.
Especially with large amounts of unemployment or social stress, the actual reality of the world and the practical limitations of society end up being lost on some people, increased crime, general misanthropy and nihilistic attitudes among people in general seem to be very common in the last decade or so.
After going through the mental illness route in health personally for forms of extreme depression (in the UK) I can confirm that I don't really think anyone has the answers that people, especially in the trans* communities are looking for other than 'deal with it'.
Not only that, but unfortunately there are many people out there which are more than willing to try anything to blame their problems on 'society' or to use a condition to manipulate people aggressively, often as an excuse to not do anything.
People who are depressed or disturbed are also much more likely to unwittingly use things like emotional manipulation or violence on people out of desperation.
tl;dr version here
Hatred hasn't gone away or got worse, it's merely that the internet has become extremely mainstream and obvious to the average person, opening channels up for everyone in society, including those who are severely mentally ill (or, quite a lot of genuinely disturbed and/or manipulative people)
Practically embodied by the whole 'die cis scum' nonsense, people who are severely mentally ill or manipulative trying to manipulate others, using an illness as a defence against others.
A big part of this that I've seen extensively both by talking to people and my experience in the totally broken system that is the social care system is that there are plenty of 'millitant' people out there focused on feminism, racism, homophobia and everything remotely similar that are often equally as hateful and self-interested as the society they're supposedly fighting against. Especially a lot of the shit concerning some 'social justice warriors', there are a lot of unpleasant people on the internet that are more than ready to aggressively attack people and feign mental illness for whatever reason.
There are people who do this who don't use any excuses all over the place, which is in a way much less damaging as it can be simply regarded as idiots stirring up drama, but people who attack people under a cause? Historically that's always been much harder to ignore, and that's exactly what many feminist and trans groups on various sites seem to be doing, because they certainly aren't doing anything to help themselves.
People will always do this because people like to gain a perceived advantage and control, whether that means actually taking control, or causing someone else to lose control.
Plus, I mean, conflict is the world. Everything is conflict, nature, human social interaction, industry, economy, politics, it just depends if you see conflict as hatred or not.
