Monty Python and furries!
Animal suits have been used in comedy for many many years - one of my more favorite recent ones being the cat and mouse punch up on Big Train (seen here at: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=hOun2I5I_co) - but I was watching my recently purchased Monty Python's Flying Circus box-set for the first time, when I came across this sketch about this sub-culture of men who like to dress up as mice and get together, and it's not too far off I think what A Current Affair or Today Tonight would do a report on furries as. I was in hysterics as to how closely this relates to the fandom!
This is very early Python, from the second episode of the first series, check it out here: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=uK92NYwBMts
That's all for now,
Peace out!

I don't think the skit had anything to do with it. I think it pokes fun at was then a huge rat problem in London and to also poke fun at the gay community. I think.

Hahaha! It is very much like as if they were talking about the furry fandom! Amazing :)

I'm yet to see a fur-suiter punch on in person. Starts to make me glad I don't have one xD
