Part rant, part just plain confused ._.

So...today I got banned from a forum with little no warning for accidentally "necro-ing" too much or whatever it's called.
The system the site used notifies of you of thread replies by sending them to your email account, and apparently I was receiving warnings in my e-mail. Well, I only don't say to myself when browsing a forum "hm, I better check my email for no specific reason!"
So then I received a PM on the forums to stop necro-ing, and I apologized, and stopped posting on threads.
An hour later, I got banned anyway.

Now, I'm curious...why is replying to old threads such a bad thing that it can get you banned. is it strenuous to the server? does it make an extra chore the admins somehow?
I just can't see a clear reason that it is a bad thing. Forums confuse me.
Well, I'll be unbanned next Tuesday. See if ever talk to anyone on that forum again outside my own threads. xp

I really don't see any harm in replying to old stuff. I comment on old art all the time. :B
Heck, I may one persons day by commenting on their old thread thingeh.
I get banned from servers on my WWII filght sim because I don't always use the proper runway... the PROPER RUNWAY? Who gives a shit... it's a game!

It kinda seems like the equivalent of me trying to report someone for commenting on a really old picture of mine. :p
