I remember a few years ago on FA there seemed to be a real abundance of pretty damn good music on FA, artists really pushing the envelope, tracks that were witty and intelligent, well produced (if not necessarily high quality) and generally inspiring.
I suppose it was a temporary clique that kind of drifted on to other things. But where? It makes me a little melancholy.
Now all I can find is the same techno beat repeated over and over, or some angsty metalhead's whining.
But so it goes.

I know exactly what you mean, man. A huge majority of "musicians" just make repetitive techno that just doesn't appeal to me at least. I love music and it's been an inspiration of my life and drawing, but it's very VERY rare that I'd find someone who composes music, who uses their real talent playing either guitar, piano, drums, whatever actual instrument and post it on FA. That and good music- I mean no two men will ever agree on the same song saying "it's great" and all, but still- most people prefer something original and not repetitive. All in all, I totally agree with your statement.
