Last week I posted a journal spreading the word that
love-hate was in a bit of a bind and could use some help. That journal was a big help, and he was able to get the help he needed within an hour of me posting it.
Thing is, when he went to the doctor, he got a prescription for even more medicine, and this new batch was even more expensive than the last one. Seriously, is this how healthcare works in the States? You go in with money in hand to get the stuff you've been told will help you get better, and the doc just goes "Oh no, I misspoke, you need this too, and that will cost extra."? Sounds like a pretty dickhead move to me.
Anyhow, I normally don't do this kind of favor twice, but he told me he was afraid they'd have to take skin off if the meds don't work, so I will make an exception this time.
Now, with this being in the middle of the month, I'm not sure how much spare coin my respective fans have left, but, if you can afford it, every little bit helps.
Here's a link to his journal.

I have Diabetes. When I first found out, I had to go to the doctor. While there, I stressed over and over that at the time, I had NO job, little money on hand, and NO bank account, so I could not afford expensive meds or treatments. When I was told I would need to start taking insulin, I again explained to the doctor that I had very little in the way of funds, and asked if the medicine would cost much. "Oh no, it should be fairly cheap..." he told me.
When I left the hospital and went to pick up the medicine, it was $600 for ONE of the prescriptions! And when I went back to see the doctor, they told me I had to be put through Triage again (where they take your vitals and such) even though I had just left... $675 for each time they did it. I eventually was left hanging without meds for a while until I was able to go to a clinic, where... get this... I was given the same expensive medicine for free. Three months worth, no less!
Why it wasn't just inexpensive or free to begin with I don't understand... but such is the business of medicine in this messed up country.
