Maybe you need to doodle a bit to get back in your artistic mood?

Yeah but it's been a lot of WIP stuff and nothing I'm working on is even remotely ready to be posted. It just sucks because where 5 years ago I would put 30+ hours into a piece over the span of a week, these days I can only spare about an hour or two a night and it just starts to eat at me because even though I'm working on things for less hours it's a longer period over time that it's in progress with less to show for it. Something that only takes me 10 hours to do also took me a month to do because I couldn't find time for it. I hate being brutally broke, I have to share my time between 3 jobs and art and trying to stay friends with my boyfriend. I love him to bits but he always wants to watch movies or play video games with me and it's like, I really can't! He gets sick of hearing my excuse and I get sick of saying it but drawing is a part of me and I really need to give it more time especially these days ;-;

You ARE good! Maybe it's just one of those days where it seems like the good decides to hide. I get them every so often.

I need sleep over all. I've been working long 12 hour days and when I get home all I want to do is draw but I'm so exhausted that everything I do takes me twice as long as I'm used to and looks shittier than I expect. I think after I'm done these last few commission pieces I just need to sit down and work on something different, like fan art probably haha My deviant art is full of pieces I'm very happy with still but that are 5 years old. And it's like, that's how I drew 5 years ago, what the hell happened? My style gets significantly less realistic as time goes on and it just eats at me a little bit.

I want to put the love and care into commission work and I do try but it never looks how I want it too. I'm wondering if I need to break away from the norm for one piece even. Like try drawing a human or something for once and see if that helps me feel better about my development. idk, thank you for listening to me bitch and thank you for the support ;A;

Thank you! I'm happy to hear it, I just think sometimes I get used to a personal standard and sometimes it feels like I've lost touch with it. I just need to practice a lot more and I should feel better about it ;-; <3
