Not specifically really. There's a a few bits relating to such largely for stuff being in theme with a convention here and there. I'm not against spacey stuff at-all, but so far even as sci-fi goes, I'd sooner watch say Terminator or Predator than Star Trek. Though I'm not sure where Avatar'd fit... I mean it's on an alien world and so implies a lot of space stuff and what-not, but.. ..well, I'm going off-topic... hope I cleared it and covered it sufficiently still.

Avatar was an excellent film! I think what you are getting at is the meeting of cultures from different technological levels... which in many cases would imply the existence of space travel (or time travel), even without it being a major plot element, so I believe I understand.

Space travel appeals to me in the same way a ship crossing a sea or a caravan crossing a desert does, if that makes sense.
