Any tips for a starting out artist looking for commissions?

I was wondering if anyone had any tips they can give to an artist that is just starting out and are looking for people to commission them? Any tips you can give, or any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Advice I could give is don't rush it, practice every day and wait until people come to you! ^^
