i was trying to decide which 20th century painter i should one of my essays on when one of my class mates mentioned Mark Ryden. so i decided to check out his web page and Oh, My, Fricken, Gawd! the details in his work are amasing. in a sence it's cute but it's creapy and disturbing even more so. i looked through most of his paintings and i could only think of one thing to say. "WTF" it was like peering into the world of Alice in Wonderland mixed with the mind of Tim Burton with slices of Charly Manson and just a sprig of Nightmare on Elm Street with a hint of lemon. just the amount of thought that must've gone into each piece is mind boggling. and there are so many reoccuring themes in them as well, from alchwmy symbols, to the all seeing eye, jesus or something religious, beef, bees, and even abe lincon makes multiple appearences in his works. any ways if ud like to check out some of his work, here's the web site
