Crystal Pony.
The foals of such ponies are they:
1) Live born foals
2) Gem-like eggs of the foal, this would result in an overall larger birth of them having a semi-solid form being pushed, that one contains the foal, fluids, and resulting wall.
2) Gem-like eggs
2 for Crystal Changelings.
Well... ''realistically'' speaking, in terms of 'real pony' and 'MLP:FiM ponies', crystalline-skin foals would be far more ''natural''.
I get the idea of gem-like eggs, because... well, gems, rocks, etc... but as much that #2 has some interesting points, the first one would be generally better.
