Top Ten Song List

--we came in?"
This idea was started by supersonic250...and once I figure out how to add icons into these messages, I'll post hers here. X3 I don't normally do memes, but this one looked interesting.
It's real hard to narrow these down to ten, and even harder to put most of 'em in any kind of order...but here we go, anyway. Just so y'all know, numbers 4 through 10 really *aren't* in any kind of order... Also, I could easily fill this list with Pink Floyd songs, but I won't, so I have some variety here. =P
10) J. S. Bach - Toccata and Fugue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSWLqHDtVfo If you don't know this one, you need to be kicked repeatedly. X3
9) Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu4o.....9&index=56 Powerful lyrics, and a compelling melody... This is one song I don't think I'll ever forget. (Warning, video is quiet, you may want to turn your volume up.)
8) Rush - Red Barchetta. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAzQX9Zy0U0 Good lyrics, good music, good story. Geddy Lee is the god of bass guitar, hands down.
7) Shinedown - Simple Man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5gvSzbSMNg Kudos to Lynyrd Skynyrd for the original, but I think this version of the song really captures the essence of the message. The original sounded very rock-ish, while this one's slower, more emotional-sounding.
6) Kansas - Eleanor Rigby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bohUg_xpT1o As long as I'm doing covers... Again, kudos to the Beatles for the original, but I just absolutely adore this version. Maybe the sound doesn't fit the song as well, but I still like it. A lot.
5) Disturbed and Genesis - Land of Confusion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKFIedvbAik and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEXS.....=1&index=1 Ignore the video on that second one... Both versions of this song absolutely make me gasm. The original by Genesis has been a favorite of mine since I was very young. It's no wonder that Disturbed made a cover of it, one that was every bit as awesome as (if not a bit more than) the original...
4) Eagles - Hotel California. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_JW.....eature=related This one's another favorite from when I was real young... The lyrics are entertaining, the music is awesome... There's really nothing bad you can say about it. Except maybe that it gets overplayed, sometimes, because it's so awesome. ^^;
3) Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI_sv5uswoY We're getting into my top favorites, here. This one is dark, but hopeful. I absolutely love the lyrics and the melody. Brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it, and it sometimes still does.
2) Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4laz.....eature=related Specifically this version, the one that opens with the flute, and closes with the lines, "Cold-hearted orb, that rules the night... Remove the colors from our sight... Red is grey, and yellow white...but we decide which is right...and which is illusion." Awesome romantic tune. Actually, the album it comes from, "Days of Future Past", is made of epic win, and if you don't have it, you should.
1) Roger Waters - Each Small Candle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8pLTI3Y9WU Sorry, there's only a live version of this song, so far as I'm aware... Some of you might say, "Jin, you already posted a Pink Floyd song! What gives?" Well, I call fair game, since "On The Turning Away" was after Waters left the group, and this is Waters' solo stuff... The lyrics in this one have literally haunted my sleep. They are the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard, even if this isn't exactly Waters at his best, vocally speaking. I'm just glad I got to see him live, 'cuz I'm afraid I won't get another chance...
There were a lot of other songs that I really wanted to mention, but...this is good, at least for now. ^^

FA+

My top 10 would be...well, really weird I'd have to think about that for a while.
