What exactly does "sponsor" mean?

Essentially he would pay for someone else to be in, in this case, the picture.
but the who and for what would be up to him, if he wants to or not.

I'm more comfortable with the park unless I could be assured of nothing untoward going on at the beach (otherwise I'd rather Harriet not be in the picture)--however, Harriet isn't comfortable with the beach at all, even if she could be assured everything would be G-rated. She would probably be kicking sand off her sandals, swatting gnats (or snapping at them, trying to eat them), and staying away from the water.

The park I'm fine with, though. Harriet would probably be on a picnic blanket, munching on she knows not what and looking around. She might be curious as to what the picnic ants taste like.

Would you object to the idea of Harriet building a sand castle next to a beach blanket?
there is nothing that should ever exceed a PG rating in these group pictures. They are to have fun and create a chance for our characters to interact with one another.
What is most likely to happen is I'm going to get an artist to take the ideas we have all thrown out and draw up a sketch. I'll post the sketch for the group and if people like it they can claim the spots from their ideas for their character to be in the picture.
its just for fun, if you don't like the idea, you can suggest a change or come up with something different. It looks like we may do the beach to catch the end of summer, and the Park for mid fall. These will be ongoing things so if one is skipped you can catch the next.

I don't know if Harriet is the type who would build a sand castle, but if she were, she would be on the blanket, not next to it. She doesn't like the way sand gets everywhere, and that would overwhelm any enjoyment she got out of it.

Well, that's what I hope for--it's just that people have different ideas of what's "okay" and what isn't, that's my only real concern.

Haha @ Urbie giving people sand bodies. XD Sounds like something she'd do! Would totally be fine for joining in a beach pic, for sure! Whenever that gets going, would gladly throw some money in on that for my character's part.

Okay, I want to know before the picture is drawn what the plan is--since it's looking like beach is winning, I need to know what's in the picture before I can decide whether Harriet is going to be in a constant state of irritation, or if she's going to be absent from this picture entirely. Harriet is not the beach-loving sort at all.

Just to avoid being a stick in the mud, I'll give an idea of Harriet in case she would be in this picture:

While she doesn't want to go into the water, she wears a modest one-piece bathing suit. It's solid purple (no stripes, polka dots, or patterns of any kind), and it has a sort of short, bunched-up "tutu"-like skirt, rather than exposing her legs entirely. Likewise, while she doesn't like to go into the water, if she did she would wear goggles--but she doesn't like the feel of those on her face anyway. She would also probably be watching everywhere she stepped, although she also wouldn't want to get hit in the head.

The most fun she might have is trying to eat the bugs hanging out near the water.

Oh, and she would also probably wear a shower cap on her head, matching her bathing suit--she will never tie her hair back, much less braid it, under any circumstances.

I'll keep this in mind, I'm talking with an artist about sketching it up once we have everyone's ideas in. Though she could probably be on the ground cloth with Krista, I'd imagine her being in a one piece as well, munching on some stuff from a picnic basket.
like I said, I'll get a sketch with the general idea's and we can make some changes if they don't suit everyone. But that will be in the works by end of next week.

Heh, just thought of an idea but it would probably only work if Harriet were the main or only character in it, not in a group shot:

Harriet eating from a picnic basket, trying to eat the insects, and basically staring off into the distance, forgetting where she is and getting lost in thought (which is a habit of hers).

Would Krista be wearing a one-piece bathing suit too?

I have an image of Harriet now of her in her tutu one-piece, a shower cap covering all her hair, and sunglasses--I barely recognize her. She also would NOT give herself a tan.

Also, she'd probably be more comfortable being next to Krista if she knew something about Krista.
