so my laptop's dead...

i use the dark theme, therefore my profile and journals cater to it. i apologize if it's difficult to read in the light theme, though i did try to use colors that would be easily visible on either; however, if you can't, highlighting the text should provide enough contrast to read it :3
edit 3: found an old laptop that i'm using until i can get a new hard drive for my good one. (which will hopefully be soon)
edit 2: as of 8/24, the backup laptop is dead, too. back to the 3ds.
edit: got an old laptop working. still can't draw digitally, but at least i won't go insane C:
yeah, i managed to kill my laptop yet again. technology just hates me. so the only internet access i have right now is through my brother's 3ds, which i can't draw on. i'm going to try and do some traditional drawings, since i've really got nothing else to do now that my laptop's dead. if i make anything halfway decent, i'll try and get it scanned via my mom's computer.
that's all for now i think, just letting you guys know what's going on.
You can't recover anything if the disk is completely dead, does the computer even show it as being attached when you boot into bios?
Do you have any usb storage devices with enough space for the data you need to recover?
Can you burn a dvd disk from an image file?
the laptop doesn't even get to bios with the first one, i don't think. with the second one, it says it's 'bad'. idk if windows randomly imploded or what lmao.
i don't, the biggest usb drive i have is 32gb, and it's full from when it started dying the first time.
and i have no idea if i can or not :o
Well, you could still upload the data to a remote server or windows home network share on your old laptop (assuming it has enough space for the data).
That's not good xD, basically you would need to create an ubuntu installation disk so that I could help guide you through booting from it and recovering the data. A tutorial on writing image files to dvd in windows 7 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...../dd451080.aspx
Download the ubuntu installation image from here http://releases.ubuntu.com/14.04.1/.....ktop-amd64.iso
I can try and walk you through stuff tomorrow if you want via twitch stream k : ).
this laptop might have enough storage for one of them, at least, but i'm not sure.
and i wasn't thinking, but i definitely can't burn anything to disk, because the cd drive on this thing is busted |3
i might be able to get the thing i need soon anyways though, because my mom's letting someone stay at our house, and i'm getting money from them staying here cuz they're in my space.
