The Return To A Wonderful Werewolf Dream
Most karmic quote: "Let me be that darkness in your world of light..."
...just woke up to the most wonderful werewolf dream ever!
It was... IS a dream I do recall havin' had at least once b'fore... It starts out with me returnin' ta my old catholic elementary school... I r'member cause as a child it always looked more like some fortified cathedral/castle type building, complete with a huge courtyard with high, wrought iron fencing... of course now the buildings and statues are much older. the once well-manicured courtyard is now overgrown with vines an weeds. Some would think that this would make the place seem more creepy but oddly enough for me it seems more... natural in this state.
The sky is darkening as dusk prepares the setting for the coming evening. Already tendrils of fog are snaking across the ground as I walk barefooted across the courtyard and begin climbing the stairs. I go inside the the interiour is already too dark ta see much of anythin'... what few shafts of light from the settin' sun revealing only that the interiour of this building is in about the same condition as the exteriour. As I walk around inside I under-go my shapeshift almost entirely unnoticably... for there is no pain, no 'altering' sensations of any kind in fact as being a werewolf has been a part of my life fer so long I can scarely r'member a time when shifting wasn't 'natural' ta me.
Scents in the air cause me to turn... slowly... in fact everythin' in an about this dream seems ta occur in slowed motion as I walk back towards the entrance. As I cross the threshold I turn my head side ta side as I see them... Werewolves of all descriptive types an 'labels' they have been given in the folklore of their native land. Some seem ta look almost entirely human but for a few wolfish traits while others look entirely like feral wolves as well as everything inbetween for some of them. Every wolf-type creature of lore and legend has gathered here, some gathered in large or small groups, others jus' paired up an off ta one side... an dartin' in an out are the younglings, pups of all these werewolves an wolfkin, playin' with each other as they chase each other around or roll wrestlin' on the ground... sometimes even the older siblings or even adults joinin' them in their revelry.
I've walked back inta the middle of the courtyard through all of this as I've been lookin' at all these wolfkin, givin' acknowledged nods ta some, headrubs ta pups as they dart by an such... Each of them givin' off a smoky, scented 'aura' as familiar ta me as any sight an smell I have known my whole life an it feel like I have finally returned home. Throughout the social gathering there is also and always other overwhelming scents too because our noses will never let us ignore the presence of food! and as I turn ta look back towards the building I notice that now food-bearers, who are either more wolfkin or some who're wolfkin fans/lovers who adore our kind so much they have no greater joy in life themselves other than to be around us are emerging from the building carrying massive platters heaped with all kinds of prepared meat treats an food... from the raw all the way across the range to the burnt and there is never a shortage of culinary delights ta sample.
The moon is full (naturally) and the night is alive with it's light and the lights of dancin' fireflies and there is also music... patches of it as some play whatever instruments they enjoy but always the music is only a soft accompaniment ta the constant howls of the wolves an wolfkin, broken and unbroken as long-held howls taper down while new howls rise up... I lift my head ta howl... and open my eyes as I wake up.
...Ya ever have a dream that felt so heart-felt an strong... so... right in yer heart that it actually makes ya cry ta wake up from it b'cause once more ya realize it's only a dream... an that'cha gotta once more return ta this 'reality' that we've made fer ourselves...
I mean... if there is a werewolf equivilant of 'heaven' then this dream is it and havin' ta leave it ta return ta reality just sucks! I mean m'talkin' post-con depression ta end all former post-con depressions!
Oh well... It was great ta have that dream again anyways even if it did eventually have ta end... an I felt it was so wonderful that I wanted ta share it with y'all... who knows? Perhaps I'll work it inta one'a m'stories an from there... perhaps someday I or someone else will make it visually possible portrayed in a movie... I do know that it is the best werewolf dream I've had... no fightin' monsters and/or runnin' away from things or such... An when m'time here on this plane of existence is finally done... then this is where I wanna end up... bein' one of the wolves in this dreamscape givin' other wolfdreamers the same feelin' of warm welcome and home as it gives me.
Blessed Be m'furry family! *hugsall'aya!* :)
I felt the same as you did once I woke up from a dream like that.
I think dreams are a gateway to some other reality, they seem like that to me anyway, like opening a door, stepping though & on the other side is this whole other realm, reality, whatever it is.
If indeed what it is, is Heaven we are seeing, it's something to look forward to, who knows, could just be a peek into the multi-verse itself.
After all if you can see, taste, smell, hear, feel everything in the dream it just might be just that.
