I feel really bad right now. I discovered that the harness we bought my dog was rubbing her raw and caused injuries to underneath her front legs. It was so bad in some places she was lacking hair.
I feel like a horrible owner, even though I didn't know. I am not even sure she's happy with me.
She kept running and hiding in a corner after I discovered it. I got a few licks but nothing like she normally does. I don't even know now...I just feel really miserable.

It's not your fault hun..you didn't know. All you can do is try to make the dog comfortable. Take care of her wounds. And let her know you still love her. Comfort her.

That's what I've been trying to do is let her know I love her and I didn't realize. I'm going tomorrow to purchase a looser fitting harness. I think the issue was she outgrew the one she had and we didn't realize. Still doesn't make me feel good knowing she was in pain and I didn't notice.

That's animals for you. Unless they give us some obvious hint..they can't tell us what's wrong or if something bothers them. All you can do is do your best for her in the future. this doesn't make you a bad owner..it just means you're human. You are gonna make mistakes and not always see stuff in front of you. What makes you a good owner is the fact that you care and are going to remedy the situation.
