Dare To Be Curious *Update*

General
I'm gonna talk at length about these two topics so do bare with me.
I took the time to observe two human behaviors that occur at the same time anyone is slighted in some way, shape or form or otherwise: Knee-jerk and Hyperbole.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes these two on there website as follows
Knee-jerk (adjective)
: often reacting quickly and without thought
hy·per·bo·le (noun)
: language that describes something as better or worse than it really is
Everyone has had to have utilized these two at least once in there life (myself included.) And in the age of social media we get to see MORE of it!
There are several examples for both but mostly for the negative side of things, though two I know of where folks have cheered are the initial SOPA/PIPA uprising, and GameStop's previous restructuring.
"SOPA IS DEFEATED, CONGRESS LEARNED TO BE OUR BITCH!!!"
No it didn't. It got revived in the form CISPA which also came back in the form of CISA. http://www.cispaisback.org/
"GAMESTOP IS CLOSING ITS STORES, THEY'RE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!!"
No they're not. the closure of 130 stores was in the wake of a partnership with AT&T inc. they still have 6,457 as of late april acording to a story by the Dallas Business Journal, and they still own Spring Mobile, Simply Mac AND Cricket Wireless. http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/n......html?page=all
as for the inverse side of things... where do you start? FaceBook's acquisition of Oculus? Twitter buying Tweetdeck? Google doing ...well, ANYTHING?
It's amusing and sometimes painful to watch depending on the situation regardless of who the supposed 'victim' may be. Sometimes it isn't a slighting, other times its an outright difference of opinion. If i were to say something with or without context, honest or lie, it will get a reaction out of someone. If someone were to hop on over to twitter and say something like...
JoeSomethingSomething1234
"that (derogatory insult) deserved what she got."
...someone will gaze upon that tweet, promptly gasp at the sheer horror and thoroughly lash out at that individual. now said tweet could have been about someone who became the victim of a violent, immoral and likely illegal act. Or it could be a comment on some vile individual who recently had it stuck to them.
I personally see Knee-jerk and Hyperbole as two small flaws of the human character. Recently when I see something that would get me to react in those ways, i try to pause at that moment, take a step back, have a good hard look at what im seeing/hearing/reading and then give a more proper reaction or statement on the matter. It has helped at many an occasion to help me see a situation, and with it the world, from a few different angles.
this whole change at my worldview and the like has inspired me to try something. In the past I have had a couple cracks at doing a sports blog, both times taught me just how few friends I have who care about sports. So instead of one subject, why not all the subjects as they come up and/or interest me.
I wanna see just how curious everyone is, I wanna see how complex the answers really are.
Starting now I'm gonna dare myself to be curious, and I aim to share what I learn with all those who give a damn cause god damn it... I need a hobby!
By the by, this video is totally realivant as Knee-Jerk and Hyperbole involve emotion.
