They have no dignity, and no need for such. They are perfectly okay with eating the the crumbs of your fingertips.

I remember I had one guy asking me to draw an OVERLY complicated pic for his fanfic and he said he'd pay me back with credit when it becomes popular... Wut :B

I actually met a couple of those types. its hilariously funny how many people are exactly like this. I dont want to come over like a bitch or anything... Wait.. thats not true, I LOVE being a bitch! And those people need to get over themselves. I hate how they turn the tables and make it look as if YOU should be the one feeling honored to draw for them because they think they're gonna become popular.

Its like one of those amature artists who want to make a game and they look for someone to do all the hard coding work while they make little doodles of sexy girls.

The one who loves art check on their favorite art pieces and fetishes from who they watch but rarely favorites art, never comment, or get commissions, they may have an icon or not O_O empty profile.

Number 6 Friends with benefits or simply nr 1 fan!

The one who watches and favs and always comments on your art with intentions to be your friend, mostly with popular artist

The freeloaders are probably like the main reason why so many artists do not draw free requests..unless they like drawing for only a selective few. Which to them is kinda unfair.. but then again nobody likes being taken advantage of, or dealing with the whiny person because they cant get their free art. lol

Nope. I used to be the prime target for free loaders, and most that I had to deal with were- Picky, Ungratefull, And kept wanting more... The worst of all is they'd always try to pull the pity card on me if I dint wanna draw something for them, yaknow? Make ME feel bad for not giving them free stuff.

Ever since Ive done commissions however, the people who pay me are, grateful, Nice, Understanding, its been a nice change. I think its because if someone is willing to pay for your art it means they actually like your stuff, unlike freeloaders who just see a chance of getting a freebee and just want the picture to magically hold up to their high standart.

This is what happaned atleast in my experience, like I said I dont mind people who go for freebees aslongas they are nice and grateful.

Yup, I know exactly how that is. It's always nice to draw for someone who really appreciates it. :3

I've got the 2's here and there. But mine never seem to want to repost in their gallery which would boost my publicity or think they can get another piece afterword like I'm their art slave. Mind you, I don't mind doing requests if I can make something to my liking out of it but, if you don't give some really good details or are paying me, you're essentially getting a wing-it from me so be glad I listened to your idea at all.

Now at the same time, before I returned to arting myself and posting work of my own, I tried to be a bit of a 1 but now, I suggest things that I feel another, better artist could make something out of because I can't do it mysel. And then it's a suggestion or concept.

Yeah, that is just lame. You make free art and they wont even repost it to help you expand? Sheez! I was in that same boat once though... I was still very insecure about my art, and people wanting art from me actually boosted my self-esteem a little bit because I was like "Woaw! People want art? from me?" But then I found out those people dint even like my art at all. all they did was critisize it, make me redo it, trying to get me to draw in the styles of their favorite artist rather then my own style, or draw a genre I wasnt even into.

One time I told one of my artwhores "My sister told me I should start doing commissions, but I am not sure about it yet" And his reaction was afcourse-

NONSENSE! YOU DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING IF YOU DONT WANT TOO. Wich I dint say I dint want too, I was just still insecure about the quality of my art

He then continued to make his point by saying- Artists shoudnt ask money for their drawings, they make it themselves, it doesnt cost anything for them to draw.

^ Thats when he crossed my line and I told him off. I told him that scientists shoudnt get paid either because it doesnt cost anything to be smart, Niether do cooks, or doctors. OH WAIT... it DOES cost something, Time. Ontop of that, drawing programs cost money, tablets cost money, some artists go to school to improve their skill wich also costs money, so saying it doesnt cost money is bullshit.

Actually Poopy, I've liked your art for some time too. I think it started just after I saw it and said, "This person is talented."

I get that one of them is going through some issues about doing anything other than commenting due to tormentors, but I've told people that any gift art I do is theirs to repost and I'd like to get more publicity. But then again, most of the stuff I do is based off people who were nice and encouraged me as I initially posted art I'd done.

The one who seems to fit all this and is all afraid to do anything but comment, first popped up spouting all these compliments and stuff like it were a pickup line. He doesn't quite get the whole be specific or it's officially a wing-it concept.

My roommate is a combo of 1 and 3 I would say, mostly 1 though thankfully.

well encouraging art is great, but you gotta do it out of the goodness of your own heart... if you do it just to get free art its kinda lame. Afcourse it never hurts to try
