I recently got back into it. Not really a heavy spender on there though since my character is pretty decently set up.

You can make money when people buy your models, though I only read/heard about that a long time ago.

Just like most 3d modelling, it'll take time. For avatars you'll have to log in and learn the system a bit as to how to piece it together.
Some scripts are easy enough to figure out, but not needed for most things. If you wanted blinking eyes or opening doors however... At any rate, certainly worth a look.

Many people plau it, even if from time to time, so if you wanna go Sculpting avatars and nice accessories, you are most likely going to get yourself good money! all it needs is good advertisement OR good location XD
And I'm not sure if it's still on or not, but making SL money ables you to convert it to real life money~

It's up to you, but before you get into it you should know Second Life has an ENORMOUS learning curve

I thought that Linden Labs stopped allowing people to convert their SL money back into actual money awhile back. Either that or they just changed where you do it on the site. But yeah, It's got an active furry scene and stuff, prepare for alot of dicks, though... not that there's anything wrong with that. :3

And I found it helpful with making my little fursona drawing.... I traced the body cause I'm untalented/lazy. :3c

SL has had somewhere on the order of two million users for a long time and seems to hover there, which is down from its heyday but I do know two people who each make on the order of a thousand dollars a month selling goods.

You can absolutely convert money back and forth to Lindens - you just have to do it through official channels now instead of money sellers.

My mate and I spend about forty bucks a month on SL crap, including our rent. We adore it as an... outlet... and as a roleplaying platform.

Like any 3D platform going from your modeling software of choice to SL is full of headaches but easily learnable if you are familiar with the medium.

well its good to know they still allow it . i'll have to play the game at some point to really understand how things go to make models for it. tho i have a good friend who also makes models for SL and has been at it for a few years so he'll be of great help.
