Shockwave File palying/Saving Issue: Firefox 31.0
11 years ago
General
I have a bad problem: Ever since I was updated to Firefox 31.0 I have been unable to play Shockwave files (SWF) in the full Firefox window by clicking Download and I cannot save them to the hard drive. They will only play in the standard window on the owners page. Older files that were saved no longer play in Firefox at all; all I get is a white window in the browser. If it means anything I can no longer get IE or Chrome to work in Windows 7: IE comes up but freezes and Chrome fails to start. If anyone knows how t fix this I would appreciate it.
Thank You.
Thank You.

if Windows 7/8 go to this folder:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\
as for Firefox I'd probably do the same, and reset it back to defaults, you should be able to do this from the Menu Button, if you can't access the help menu just type in about:support into your browser to read the troubleshooting information.
if you're doing this, it will preserve your bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, cookies and open tabs, web form auto fill and personal dictionary, while removing extensions, themes, website-specific preferences, download history, DOM storage, security settings, download actions, plugin-settings, toolbar customizations, user styles and social features… all removed, after doing so Firefox will dump the old firefox profile on your desktop in a folder just incase the copying files to the new profile didn't work correctly, but if you don't need it I would just remove it since it contains personal private information stored in that folder.
