Physical Health: TERRIBLE
General
I've been having a lot of issues with my health, especially physically. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced something like this?
I've been to the doctor so many times, and they never find anything. When the tests come back clear they just decide nothing is wrong and send me on my way.
For the past month or so I've been feeling incredibly sick. I have had GERD for years, but this is on top of the issues that causes (chronic cough). I feel sick, my head hurts, my stomach hurts... After I eat (and sometimes randomly) my chest and shoulders really hurt. I've tried eating differently, cutting out certain foods, not eating at all.. Nothing makes a difference. I still feel terrible almost 24/7. I wake up feeling so sick I feel like I might puke. x___x The doctor gave me some anti-nausea pills but they haven't made any difference at all either. I'm on medication for other issues (GERD, depression and schizophrenia) but I haven't changed anything about my dosage and I've been taking them for years so I doubt it has anything to do with that.
It's just so frustrating! Every day, always, I just feel so terrible. With this, my fitness has declined terribly too. I haven't been able to exercise because I feel so sick. I'm just so weak and pathetic right now oh my god. ARGHH.
The past year has been terrible for my physical health. A little over a year I broke my foot while working out at the gym and since then everything has gone down hill. I was perfectly healthy before, and since I broke my foot I've been almost constantly so so so ill!
Good news though is that it hasn't affected my art output (I work flopped on the sofa anyway haha!). But stll, damn, I would really love it if I could figure something out to make me feel better.
I know FA isn't the most pro medical website to ask, but has anyone heard of anything like this? I've talked to so many doctors and get nothing. )8
Thanks all! I just wanted to type it out too I guess arghhh I'm feeling so nauseous I don't know what to do anymore. CRIES

And no, I've never heard of a disease like this. ;c
I really hope you find out what's been bothering you soon, it honestly pains me to hear that you're so sick. :(
Please keep trying your hardest to get through the pain and find out what's wrong. Sorry I can't really help, but I hope everything works out in the end. <3
In the end, they just offer surgery, which is a bad bad choice. I declined the surgery, as it's very unsafe, only has a 50% chance of working, and even if it does work will loosen up and go back to normal again anyway in the end, so they say.
Sorry for the rant! I'm just so fed up with doctors saying there's nothing wrong with us, and throwing tablets at us that don't even work.
On the other hand though, I have been to doctors in Germany about it too who were more thorough in their investigations but I also left empty handed in the end. It's so frustrating.
Yeah, I've had blood tests, endoscopies, ultrasounds, xrays, cat scans, all sorts!
I feel sick every day, and have to stay home all day everyday. I get no exercise, and I'm thin from being so ill. I have to do my art in bed, and have to keep my stomach straight or I'll be in trouble!
Something which helps LOADS is if you have your bed raised up at the head at LEAST 6 inches. This stopped me feeling sick when I woke up! It works like a charm seriously.
I can help you loads more if you like, since we both have the same problems, I can tell you everything that helps me and my experience! I'm so so so so much better than I used to be, thanks to the things that I've been doing, so I'd be happy to share!
Just let me know :) We can note or email, or anything you like!
Yeah, I've had GERD for 12 years now and it has always manifested itself as a chronic cough that makes me puke every morning, evening, and when I'm nervous. I occasionally felt sick waking up and eating and such, but nothing as bad as this. x___x I'm so sorry you've had to go through this too! It's just so frustrating. I hope we can both find some kind of solution soon. I'm thinking of perhaps drastically adjusting my diet long term, but it's so hard to know what's right. Just always feeling so dreadful.
I will try the raising my head to sleep again. I've tried it a few times before, but it always seemed to make the specifically acid reflux part of my GERD worse when I have my head up while sleeping on my back. I found the best has been to sleep on my stomach, but I still feel terrible. I'm going to try raising it a bit higher though, I feel confident it might help a little or at least change something! Should get one of those hospital-esque beds that can go up and down LOL
Raising only your head won't work at all, you have to literally raise the whole top end of the bed up. I have wooden stilts that I put underneath the legs at the top of the bed so that the whole bed tilts. It's amazing, and I haven't had a problem since. Something else that you should do is always sleep on your left side. If I don't sleep on my left side, I get very very sick. Sleeping on the left helps keep the acid in your stomach and not going up your oesophagus!
Yes I have adjusted my diet long term, and it has help me so so so much. I'm taking acidophilus probiotics too. They have been the thing that has helped me most, I can eat so many things now without a problem just thanks to these tablets. They help replenish the good bacteria in your gut which helps digestion. They're seriously amazing! I have the 1 billion active cultures one, (the lowest dosage). It took me a long time to get onto one tablet though. They upset my stomach when I tried having one at first (because they're strong, but they taste great! :P) So I cut it into quarters, and had one quarter for a week or two, then half etc etc. It's very normal for them to make you feel sick at first, but apparently that just means it's doing it's job. And it sure did! I'm so happy I pushed through it. They've made me so much healthier.
You can just buy them in your local health food shop (Mine isn't so local, but it's not far)
I would really really love to help you out on this, and perhaps help you create a diet plan? I would love to share my tips with you, because I've learnt so so much, and even had help from a special allergy therapist (even though I'm not allergic, she helped with my diet) so I know a lot!
Is there any way I can contact you and help you with this? (Doesn't have to be instant messaginv)
You can contact me per email at miri@mirikun.com, or on Twitter @Mirikun, or on LINE - mirikun.
'Could be linked to the Meridian system in chinese medicine.
In acupuncture, feet are said to be connected to all parts of the internal organs.

I would recommand to see a Chinese acupunctor asap and tells him your story prior to any -useless- "standard" medication!
worth the try...
As a naturopathic specialist, I recommend you to stop taking medicine. Doctors get paid for suggesting medicine, all of them has a side effect, which will be more likely to occur if you take it regularly for a long time.
There are some medical devices we suggest to people like you, but sometimes it just not worth buying it. Consider testing the tap water at somewhere, that is mainly the cause when doctors can not really figure out your problem. Anyways, drink water. If you don't like the idea of buying bottled (non-carbonated), then you should buy a water purifier for your household. Have one? Use it. An average person should drink 2-3 liters of water a day. Only water. Other beverages do not count. Also, sometimes the filters inside needs to be replaced, it depends on the company. There are some fake companies, so it is worth buying a middle-priced one. Here in Hungary it is very common to use.
I could also suggest you some other stuff worth buying, but I think with some practical ideas you could also get better soon. So DO get better soon D:
I do drink several liters of still clean water a day. (: I've tried with filter, without, and from different countries/areas. So I hope that can help in the long run. As for the medication, I'm reluctant to stop taking any of the mental health related medications because they have really helped and I've been taking them for years now. Once I'm totally safe and better I will work on stop taking them. Unfortunately my stomach problems predate the medication. I'm not taking any of the ones that haven't helped.
What kind of worth-buying things do you mean? I'm willing to try everything! (: Thanks so much!
Simple concept: a human needs proper water, air and light.
If you are looking for a way to get rid of the mental health related medicine, you need light. In England too many people get depressed, because of the weather conditions mainly. With a light therapy device with a daily use of 2x7-10 minutes, depression could be stopped. Not only that, but it actually cures many different diseases fully - unlike medicine. Since medicines only treat symptoms, your health is getting worse in other ways. All medicines destroy your immune system. I kind of disagree with vitamin pills too, but that's only my opinion.
-light therapy is also recommended to healthy people, since it helps them keep up with being healthy.
Air filtering devices are for mainly the ones, who are allergic, or live inside a crowded part of the city. They usually need as much power a year as a TV does a week or less. That 3 thing is common here, and the numbers are growing. The best companies have lifetime warranties for that.
You should read what light therapy cures or actually helps you with. If the written things are not working, you can somewhere get your money back. Also, doctors use these in hospitals.. you pay around 8 pounds a day to get a 10 minute treatment.. For some people, that's an option too o3o
This nonsense that modern medicine supposedly makes us sick makes me want to throw up...
It is true that some doctors prescribe stuff that is not necessary but those are rare cases.
You can't cure cancer with light and water. You can't even cure a common cold with that!
Looking out for what you put into your body isn't 'naturopathy', it's common sense.
While a doctor who says that nothing is wrong when something is obviously wrong clearly doesn't deserve to be paid nearly as much(or at all!), anyone who says that modern medicine is a scam has clearly never heard of what went down in the Dark Ages, and has no idea why that stuff has stopped now(or perhaps it has something to do with "higher holy energy vibrations").
If someone wants to avoid science for phony remedies, that's fine, if they croak it's just natural selection doing its thing, which is killing the weak and stupid to let the better creatures live to pass on their genes. However, they should NOT convince a normally intelligent person to do the same.
Bottom line: Do NOT listen to IcyWhiteCat or any other dumb science-denier on how to "help" yourself! Modern, scientific medicine is why we don't have the Black Death anymore, not "higher energy!"
Next time you have a cold: Drink water, rest, eat oranges, place an onion in your room to sanitize the air (DON'T eat the onion afterwards lol) and you should be fine. Trust me, I've had years of experience with that.
Naturopathics are even against vaccination... It is beyond me how someone can be this stupid. We have pretty much wiped out diseases through vaccination and now we are supposed to stop doing it!?
I hate religion anyway but that shit just makes me rage.
However all medicine could be reduced, or can be even fully abandoned. Not from moment to moment.
How much you know about modern medicines or cancer?
Medicine is a business. The doctors here actually get payed for writing medicines for their patients. In greater countries like Japan, doctors get payed after their healthy patients. Neither of these would be a problem, I just want to show you, that there's another point of view, than what you take in.
Did I mention, that light cures cancer? No. Even though there are references telling 'yes'. Does medicine cure cancer? Same thing. But do they want to cure you? No. They want you to pay your socks off. People having cancer buy medicines 100...0 times more expensive, than it actually costs to produce. That's the thing.
They do not want you to die, because you wouldn't pay more for them then. They do not want you to cure either, because it's a huge buisness.
Naturopathy should be a common sense, but it's not. That's why I invested time to study that. Since then I managed to get rid of all my medicines I was forced to take. Emphasized: Not moment by moment. I'm not telling everyone's a 100% able to do that. Light therapy even cuts of the quantity of your necessary medicines for people having # diabetes, because you take at least half of them later after the side effects you will more likely to have as time passes. Immune system and such common senses. I call that modern medicine, not pills or injections.
Anyways, I respect your point. You misunderstood me because you could.
I see your point of view as an asinine conspiracy theory. That is my issue with your whole argument! That doctors only prescribe medication to get more money. And as I said, in certain cases that is definitely the case but you can't lump every doctor together like that.
"But do they want to cure you? No. They want you to pay your socks off." And I want you to conclusively prove that to me. Because this point is exactly why I called you a quack. If you can't prove anything to me I simply can't believe any of your points you make here.
You got rid of all your medication that way? What did you have?
Also, what if someone has a completely broken pancreas? Would they be able to stop taking insulin at some point?
The idea that we wouldn't need medication that way is asinine. Medication, vaccination and proper hygiene are the reason why the mortality rate has dropped so much. And you want to get rid of that?
Also, what you call "naturopathy" shouldn't even have a name in my opinion. Going out more, eating properly and making sure that you only use fresh water isn't a special practice. It's what doctors want you to do anyway.
I can prove, you should not believe. I have written stuff, I have living references. Would that prove anything to you? You should get own references, you should not believe to anyone else in this case. I would not, at least.
You should also show me one doctor, who suggests honey with garlic for sore throat without prescribing pills next to it. Because I have none around here..
Don't mind my illnesses as well. I used to have mental problems related to Miri's, it's just neither you, nor I can tell if that was the therapy I was talking about or something else that cured me. I'm only saying it definitely wasn't my medical treatment, since I had been in front of a worst perspective according to doctors, than my current one back then. And then I found this, and everything turned better after a while.
I share your opinion. It's just weird you kind of tell me medication is an essential for a human being. It didn't really exist like.. 4000 years ago, but they still managed to survive somehow. I mean duuh? Of course surgery is great and all, it's just if people don't make steps to prevent illnesses (at least ON TIME), they will get into a spiral, where - not in all cases, but- there's a way out. Medicines would be great if humanity would expect more from the people who produce in that industry.
More people are switching to our ways. How could that be? Because people with might do not want that. It's understandable. They say: "Hey look! Those idiots bought an average lamp for a fortune, and they sit in front of it 20 minutes a day. That's the real scam, not us". The answer is: because it works, and it works the way you expect that. Even for you could be easy to find real references by now.
I, too, encourage homeopathy and in fact I was on a natural regiment of Saint John's Wort, Fish Oil, Sam-e, and a couple other things to help my variety of mental illnesses for a while until I attempted suicide and was forced onto medication for mental illnesses that are physically present in my brain. I, and many other mental health patients, have abnormal brain wiring and/or growth which can only be fixed by medication. I guarantee you, NONE of us want to be on medication.
That being said, I 100% agree that one should drink water, get an adequate amount of sunlight, exercise regularly, and eat right but these can only alleviate symptoms, NOT correct "faulty" wiring or brain development. And when someone is in a better position in their life and in a safe environment, I do encourage them to ease off medication but some people don't have the privilege of being able to do so.
Yeah, I think the trapped gas thing might also be because I am (and have been my whole life) physically unable to burp LOL. I have literally never burped in my life. The only way I can release air upwards from my stomach is by puking. SO UNCOMFORTABLE. And again, the doctors say it's no problem and that there's nothing wrong with me. DURRR.
I will absolutely try the Peptac liquid. (: Thank you so much ahhh I'm so happy to be getting suggestions here! I'm so relieved that I'm not alone (as the doctors have lead me to believe!).
Oh yes it may be that. But I can't deny the pain really does feel like trapped air. I feel like it's air that needs to be released? I'm not sure!
And yeah, I can't burp at all. Or, I guess I can but it means emptying the entire contents of my stomach rather than just air LOL. I'm not really willing to do that after eating to feel less sick. It just feels like I SHOULD be burping but it just doesn't happen. I can't!
Also yesss do get in touch on LINE! <3 Thanks so much! I'll keep fighting!
The surgery consists of wrapping the upper part of your stomach around the bottom part of your oesophagus, to help tighten the sphincter. However, the surgery cannot be undone, and loosens up over time and usually puts people right back where they were.
While it seems you are on your way to getting better - having found others with the same issue to share experience - it might be something to talk to your doc about the medication: you likely had some medication for the broken foot, and have others for years now.. time is a matter as you change slightly with age (alergies, resistance, just to say..), maybe one side effect started manifesting, maybe the med for the foot injure triggered something... not a cause, clearly, I am no specialist (just know first aid due to work), but theres ever a chance when having a few medications group together that something start afecting you weird... sudden changes (new meds, changing meds or stoping) can also trigger or cause their own side efects......
...and sorry, kind of ranting here... eh.. just talk to your doc if all these medications together have no side efect, and what... information is golden.
Just sharing my own no-medic view on the matter... hope you get better (all of you)! ^.^
hopefully we can sort it !!
I did, a few months ago, get salmonella which was a nightmare LOL. Was closely followed by viral labyrinthitis. I do believe both of these are all gone now, but perhaps they added to me getting weaker and weaker and ending up such a poor sick lump.
I had it for three months. My throat was almost completely closed from being so swollen, I could only eat soup and I couldn't move much because I would have risked a ruptured spleen.
Mono is something I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
And the worst part is that there is no medication against it. Your body has to get rid of it all by itself. All you can do is take painkillers.
Oh! And you become a carrier for life! XD That isn't very dramatic though. 95% of all people had it (usually as a child which then looks like a small flu), so 95% of all people are carriers for it. You do become immune to it though.
Then she tried eliminating wheat/gluten from her diet and suddenly felt much, much better. Might be worth a try!
Yeah, unfortunately I've had all test and tried cutting out gluten for example. I don't have any allergies! IF ONLY IT WERE AN ALLERGY... ; 7 ;
I also find that if you go and look at some natural green things first thing in the morning, it really eases your eyes and makes your body feel calm. I would sit and look at my backyard for like 15-30 mins. I draw a lot, so I tend to use my computer a tad bit much, so looking at natural things kinda soothes my eyes.
Another thing is, we try to be clean at all times. We clean the house at least 1-2 times a week. Dusty places make me feel sick most of the time.
I hope that you moving to Germany would ease some things up! The environment might be different there, so yay! Stay strong Miri!
YES, I absolutely agree that environment is a huge factor. Having lived in England for three years, I noticed a huge change in my health. Though summers are nice, the dark rest of the year has made my mood and health drop hugely. I'm hoping I can move back to Germany where the climate is much nicer. So hopefully this will help! I also have my place cleaned professionally once every two weeks. I really hope I can start making more money to have it done more often. Of course I can clean myself, but it's never as good.
But yes. Back to Germany where I can hopefully have more space, more light and a better mood and health! <3
I have psychology problem indeed and skin allergy issues. Where my skin allergy issues recently strikes back me few times recently.
But whatever you are, love urself. I believe everyone can pass through their own obstacles to have a better future life. Don't let it make you down. You still can make good art though
I just hope that you find something that helps you, and I'm sure all this support from your fans could give you hope for finding a cure.
The thing is, I don't understand that doctors behave like that here. I live in England so healthcare is free. It would be more worth their time/money if they just got on with it. Like this they're just wasting their own time because I'll keep coming back for help until I'm better.
i really hope you feel better, though!! ;-;
Yeah, the long term mental health meds tend to make me super sick in the first weeks of taking them, but it's all long cleared up!
I wish I knew more about schizophrenia, I know at least two others battling it. I hope you can get to the root of all this.
I'm so sorry you have to go through that! Mental health issues are so exhausting. I've had schizophrenia for ages but it's well managed so it doesn't bother me at all. The depression is what, to me, is the really hard part. However, meds have helped me a bunch and also cleared up anxiety so I'm doing pretty well. :D
I don't think these issues are caused by anxiety. I know that my GERD/chronic cough acts up when I get nervous, however I can't believe that I'm getting THIS sick from just a bit of anxiety or stress.
