I loved his movies.

It's so sad...but usually, the clowns that make us laugh the hardest are the ones that are hurting the most inside.

Yes, it's too bad. The sad clown grew too sad and took his own life.
I recall trying to watch him on Mork & Mindy and on the Tonight show so many times.
But even then, I could see that he was "spinning his wheels", like so many artists / actors I've known who were addicted.
An addictive personality can fight only so long and eventually, they give up. Like my pal Peter Potter did.
Marylin Monroe must have been on Robin's mind, because she also took her life in August. The reporters said:"At least she did it in August" - the slow for news month.
I enjoyed Mr. Williams' work but always found it a bit too much - that he was trying too hard, pushing himself too hard.
To remain a good comedian is to be relaxed, like Jack Benny or Groucho or Johnny Carson.
So I can say that I'll miss Robin Williams, but I can't say that his suicide was truly unexpected.

I also felt immediately that it had to be related to his addictions as well. I worked with a few coke-heads myself over the decades. That is what taught me never to touch the stuff. Somehow I think Rush said it best in the song Limelight, "All the world's indeed a stage
We are merely players, Performers and portrayers, Each another's audience, Outside the gilded cage"
