Something has to be done about this!
There are going to be major budget cuts to New York's zoos, aquariums, and botanic gardens. This is HORRIBLE!
The New York Aquarium is already in a state of disrepair due to lack of funding. This is something I take personally. The two plush walrus's above my computer are a testament to Ayveq, my favorite animal at the aquarium, who died this past year. These proposed budget cuts could mean that his son, Akituusaq, will lose his home.
Also, the Bronx Zoo is the most under-appreciated zoo in the country. The San Francisco Zoo is a wonderful place, but the Bronx Zoo does just as much to help conservation!
I feel like I need to do something!
I can't just sit here!

Try to get people to donate towards improving the zoo and aquarium.
Try to vote against the budget (voting against a budget is the easiest step you can do!!!)
Try to campaign so other people vote against the budget with you!
Try to campaign against the people forcing the budget to go thrue. If they are the political type than with the loss of supporters they will cancel the budget in order to regain their followers.
