SIGGRAPH Monday

G'day Fellow Furries! I'm attending SIGGRAPH, the computer animation industry and academic convention, on short notice in Vancouver and is it awesome. Just watched an hour and a half long panel where the various visual effects leads from the studios that worked on Groot and Rocket basically showed "how the sausage gets made". Completely amazing to see those models come to life over time and the amount of care taken and the shear number of revisions those characters go through. Cloth sims, unused footage, footage of the stand-ins and doubles they used for the characters and early character revisions and work. Seeing the work that goes into getting the emotion to really work is just purely inspiring eh? I know it makes me want to get back into creating whole worlds like they do. Might as well get to it, eh?
